Whoever told you that doesn't understand malaria and the risks associated with it!!!

Goa is a malaria risk and you should take precautions. The number of malaria cases in Goa is increasing.

I do believe that you can various types of anti-malaria drugs but I'll let someone else answer that.

Just found this......"Malaria risk exists throughout the year in the whole country below 2000 m. There is no transmission in parts of the states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Sikkim. P. falciparum resistant to chloroquine and sulfadoxine–pyrimethamine reported"

So be careful which one you go for! I am looking into mine at the moment and will let you know which one I go for.

I have just read that I shouldn't go for the Paludrine/Avloclor Travel Pack as resistance has been built up against it and it its only 75% effective.

ok...two types I've been recommened.

1. Malarone - One tablet daily starting two days before you travel and continuing for four weeks after you return.

2. Chloroquine and Proguanil - Two chloroquine weekly and two Proguanil daily.

How about crushing the tablets in a spoon of jam?
