Hi..
We are going back to Lefkada again this year..with Direct Greece. As some of you may be aware, My Travel and Thomas Cook have merged. The result being the new company Thomas Cook Group.
Thomas Cook decided to change all flights into Prevezza (and maybe other Greek airports) from moring flights to late afternoon flights. One of the main attractions of Direct Greece was always their ability to secure decent flight times. Always getting to your resort by about 1pm Greek time. This new flight time now means you arrive between 10 and 11pm!!
I have heard however that Thomas Cook may have decided to do u-turn and reinstate the early flights again (probably due to a backlash from Direct Greece customers)..
Has any body had confirmation that flights are back to their original dates???
Needless to say..if Thomas Cook insist on using late flights, they shall lose my custom forever!..
Direct Greece is a decent well run company (even under the ownership of My Travel).. Thomas Cook leave it well alone!!

We will not be using Direct Greece again. Thomas Cook have reissued our invoice without the 410 we have already paid. 3 months later and innumerable phone calls and emails later they still refuse to acknowledge we have paid them this money. Their staff are unhelpful and completely disinterested in resolving the problem. It is a great shame as we have used Direct Greece many times but I will not do business with a company that treats its clients with complete contempt. Even Kosmar are better than Thomas Cook.

Yep. I've had changes too. What's going on this year?
My first flight time was 23.55 on a Saturday night, 10 May... ok, as it got you into Lindos around 7.00. But Libra and Skyholidays then cancelled all Saturday flights for the year from my airport! The best they could offer me was 21 May or a refund. I took the refund.
I managed to get rebooked with Direct Greece flying out at 16.30 on Wednesday 7 May ... or so I thought.
Although the brochure, the booking agent and my 2 WEEK OLD INVOICE all gave the details above, I noticed there was a different flight time on the internet.
I phoned DG (Wed 13 Feb) and was told that my flight time was the one on the invoice (16.30) ... I asked were they sure ... they replied no!
I phoned next day again (wished the girl a happy valentine) and was told that they THINK the flight time is now 19.30! (This will get me into Lindos around 4.00 on Thursday morning)
So ... I MIGHT be flying out at 16.30 ... or it MIGHT be 19.30 ... I'll have to wait and see what my tickets say. Direct Greece haven't bothered to contact me!
Just think ... it's not that long ago that DG were the best Grecian specialist company out there!

Things do change when companies merge -- that happened with us this year ( Kosmar + XL airways ) prices have gone up by at least a third ! , as for mergers or buy outs lets hope this site dosen't go the same way !!.

Hi
I too am gong back to Lefkada for the fourth time in June this year.
However, I didn't find out abouth the flight changes until after I had paid for my holiday a few weeks ago. It appears that a letter should have been sent to me last year, and for whatever reason it wasn't sent.
I have made several calls to Direct Greece who were full of aplogies, and they suggested I ring another number which turned out to be Thomas Cook themselves. They were just not interested, and quite frankly were very aprupt.
I have not heard anthing about the flights being reverted back, and would very much appreciate if you heard anything you could possibly let me know.
Regards
Pat

I have just seen a website Forum regarding complaints that loyal customers of Direct Greece have made regarding the flight time changes made this year to Preveza, following the recent merger of MyTravel and Thomas Cook.
We have travelled with Direct Greece now for a number of years and this year was our fifth visit to Parga, using Preveza airport. One of the main criteria for choosing this holiday and staying with this holiday was the flight times. Having paid for our holiday in June and then being notified of the flight time change when the tickets arrived was out of order in my book by Thomas Cook. Notification in writing of flight time changes should have been made prior to the invoice being paid, or at least during the conversation when paying!
We did not let this spoil our holiday, and had a good time, but Direct Greece were a much more personal travel company which made you feel comfortable and secure with finishing touches when you arrive in your resort and better customer care, but now we are just one of the minions CRAMPED into the seats of Thomas Cook Airlines.
Come back Direct Greece with your original Flight Times to Preveza and make hundreds of your customers happy again!
Should the flight times revert back to the original times next year, please do not forget to tell us in good time as we had a lot or re-arranging to do: dog in kennels; lift to airport; book an extra day off work; etc. etc.
We have booked for 2009, same place, same time, but according to our booking form the flights have not changed to their original times - but there is a year to go and all could change (hopefully)!

I booked 9.10am flights to Rhodes (Lindos hol with Direct Greece) and paid extra for this time. On arrival at Manchester airport we were handed a letter saying due to fleet problems the flight was delayed until 2.10pm when we did indeed fly.
The captain on the plane also apologised for the old aircraft!
We arrived around 11pm instead of late afternoon. OK, not a big deal but I did pay quite a lot extra for this. EMailed Thomas Cook when I got back but of course got no reply.
Now got the Direct Greece and Direct Holidays brochures but am put off from going with them again.
