Greek Islands

Hi,
This is my first post and am looking for some help. I'm looking to go to the Greek Islands at the end of August, possibly Crete. The problem I have is we have a little boy who is one and a half and into everything. We want a quiet sandy beach holiday somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of a busy resort but with enough to keep a little boy occupied.....oh and a couple of nice Taverners for mum and dad ccasion1
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Stayed in Stalis 2 years ago. This resort has a series of stretches of sandy beaches and plenty of restaraunts and quiet type bars but nothing too noisy.

I've been to Makriyalos/Makrigialos in southern Crete a couple of times and it was exactly what you've described, mainly because there was only a small main road with a few bars and tavernas along the beach and habour. However we last went around 6 years ago so a lot could have changed.

skiathos is one beautifull greek island full of green and beaches with clean sea. lot of charter flights came from uk from monday to friday every week. for property if you want try to found here at holiday watchdog

:hotsun: Hya. We went to kalymnos years ago. It was lovely. So safe for kids. The people were so friendly towards kids as well. Lots of safe beaches, and loads of tavernas for Mum and Dad. I`d love to go back there. Hope you find somewhere nice!

We`ve been to most of the Greek Islands, and had a tremendous time, the people are brilliant especially with the children.Stalis,Crete is one of our favourite places,plenty to do,lovely beach but more laid back than Malia.The public transport system is also very good.Plenty of choice for eating and drinking as well.

Kalymnos is one of the very few places I would never ever go back to. Our resort was terrible and catered entirely for brits abroad (real bisto gravy and only fools and horses on tap). Add that to a shower that poured sewage in to our room in the early hours of the morning and ycma style decor (gold standard my bottom!) and it was a total nightmare.

There and sidari (and acharavi up the road!) are the only destinations on my list to avoid

Hya. we stayed in Panormos, I think it was called. A little distance from Myrties, and Massouri. Our hotel was just around the corner from a little square with cafe`s tavernas the odd shops. It was very laid back. Our Hotel was spotless. they were cleaning every day. the pubs/tavernas around were also very clean and very suitable for families. Also in the other resorts we went to. As I said it is some time since we have been there. I really hope its not spoilt. When we went there were hardly any tourists, and the postman was on a donkey.

Panormos. Still looks lovely in the pics I`ve found on line. Hope its still as friendly, and clean.
