We have just been on a three night break at primrose valley and had such a good time we would love to go again in summer. The price puts us off but a friend told me there is a number she used to have for a place that rents caravans out for people who own their own caravan on Haven sites. She found this cost a fraction of the price. Unfortunatly she does not have the number anymore as she prefers to go abroad.
We were wondering if any other forum users have heard of this way to book cheaper Haven holidays.

I wish I had looked on the review forum before asking if anyone knew where I could get the number for cheaper Haven holidays. There are quite a few people advertising their caravan after the reviews. I will book from them in future as you can stay a week for what we paid for three nights. One family even meet you at the caravan with the keys. Show you how everything works etc.

Hi All.
I agree, Haven is very expensive. May I suggest looking at Late Deals. We got a very good one at Primrose Valley - Top of range - 350, not bad for Haven.
Also renting through private owners is another good way.

we stayed in a caravan we rented from Shadz-Holidays it was filthy. the pictures were from a swift caravan site which was so not like the caravan we stayed in. they had taken their dogs to the caravan even though it was a no pets allowed caravan which resulted in one of our guests having to return home :-( the caravan had food left in the cupboards, the shower was filthy with hairs that belonged to someone else before we got their. the floor had not been hoovered their was breakfast cereals on the floor face wipes, credit cards and newspapers left by the cleaners. The local cleaners that were 110 miles away (very local not)took over three hours to come back. the owners like to sort out problems when you are their or so they say on there splurge, but in reality it takes hours then they tell lie.
Do not book with these people unless you want to be as disappointed as us. :-(

I own two vans with Haven, and I can assure people that every effort is made to leave the vans as I would hope to find them, unfortunately some times things go wrong, but in such an event I always try to find the best solution to the problem, on our park if there is a problem with the cleaning I always send the site cleaners up, they are usually available on change over days within hours.
Part of the problem we have found is the condition people leave the vans in, there is a very limited change over time, and if previous occupants have left a mess those cleaning the vans are rushed.
We are having to introduce breakages/cleaning deposits for next year to try to address this problem, and its a shame as its only a smal number of guests, but it does affect everyone.
