| We are planning tailor made holiday to Icmeler with flight to bodrum airport.
Could you please advise us how far is the bodrum airport from icmeler and if it really makes sense to fly to bodrum? How much would transfer cost. And would it be difficult to actually take public transport such as bus? Thank you. Sylvia

| Thank you very much for your info. And I meant marmaris icmeler.
Would it be very expensive to hire a taxi from bodrum airport to marmaris icmeler?
We are planning the holiday during the half term and flights to dalaman are very expensive, so thinking of flying to bodrum instead, but if the transfer is too expensive then it will not make any sense.
Is the coach service ok in turkey?
Thanks again for all your comments.

| The coach serviece in turkey is fab, I've done Marmaris - Izmir a couple of times that took about 4 hours!!
The good side is we had great air conditioned coaches, juice and water free of charge during the journey and also cakes and biscuits free of charge.!! lol so better than our national express!!
They tend to do a lot of stops so can take a while but its pretty cheap, ours was 20lira return pp (about £8) but that was about 3 yrs ago so maybe more now but prob not much.
Alternatively you could hire a car which is cheap enough in itself but the petrol is sooo expensive, we did that in feb this year and petrol was £1.35 a litre!!!

| Yes the public bus service is excellent in turkey. Leaves exactly on time, seat numbers allocated and free coffee, tea and soft drinks on board.
However, if your flight arrives during the night then it will not be possible to go to Marmaris from Bodrum by bus. Private transfers are expensive from Bodrum to Marmaris/Icmeler. Although you may be saving on the flight to Bodrum you will end up paying extra for transfers and it is a long journey!
Hope this helps! Have a great holiday and hope to see you in Icmeler!

| Bodrum airport is the biggest rip off on earth spoiling a good holiday
the food outlet is a monopoly and we paid £76 for 6 hamburgers chips and cokes. £3 for a tiny bottle of water - buy food before you enter this dirty miserable place. toilets are a disgrace
