Hi Carol & Dodge,

I've biten the bullet and booked. Had to settle for BB in the end as couldnt' find anything suitable enough SC price wise and near to the beach. Have settled for Perfect Choice Holidays to the Selen IIHotel. Fingers crossed! Never been with an independant tour operator before!?!? Thanks guys. Enjoy your holidays Dodge and fill me in on Icmeler ready for Sept.!

Selen II hotel is in a good area, nice pool with chutes etc and most guests are very happy there.

Close to the Canal and restaurants and bars.

Have a great holiday!

Hi Carol,

coming to Icmeler for the first time on August 1st (only a few days now - not that we're counting) and wondered if you could suggest some must do things or some evening restraunts and bars worth a visit. My partner and I are in our early thirties and although holiday'd on the Med quite a bit, we've never been to Turkey before and can't wait. We're staying in the Hotel Mirray if you've got any info on it we'd be really grateful.

looking forward to your advice,

Simon and Cath.

I would recommend the Titanic Restaurant, which is situated near the Tanzas supermarket in Icmeler. The restaurant is run by two brothers who are very good friends of ours. Also try some of the reataurants by the canal, especially Dream Boys.

If you do fo the the Titanic, say that Andrew recommended you and I am sure you will be treated well.

Icmeler is a fantastic place. I would recommend the Dalyan and Pammukale tours, and you can also go to Ephesus, which is well worth it. Also highly recommended id the jeep safari, which takes you into the stunnning Turkish countryside.

I can't find any info on the 'Mirray' hotel, do you mean the 'Mirage'?

Sorry I havnt been on the site for a few days. The Miray Hotel is almost next to my office, it is a new hotel close to the beach and in the centre of Icmeler. Location is very good.

The rooms are a bit small but nice, the bar at the Miray and opposite compete with each other a bit and it can be a bit noisy, however music stops at midnight and all is quiet.

When you come out of the Miray Hotel turn left and you will come to a main road, you will see our office across the road just up from the Taj Mahal Restaurant.

Restaurants that are a must - Taj Mahal, Lighthouse, Kucuk Ev (turkish cuisine), Venice Restaurant on the Canal and I could go on with this list forever as the majority of restaurants are very good quality.

Things to do are boat trips, try our all inclusive surf n turf, jeep safari, dalyan/turtle beach, white water rafting, quad safari, turkish night and many more.

Come in for information and a map of Icmeler on your arrival.

See you soon!

Miray is bang in the centre opposite the cartier Hotel and Linaker Bar.
Across the road is a nice little Turkish soup kitchen for late night bowls of soup or kebabs.
Next door you have the Oasis Bar owned by Tina an English girl a good night to be had in here.
The canal is only a couple of minutes away with a very good choice of restaurents that all serve food till 10pm then they all put on some kind of entertainment, try them all.
Trips that are a must have got to be the jeep safari and The Turf and Surf all inclusive boat trip,I have been on them both several times, but the boat trip can only be booked through Carol who replied to your post earlier as this is exclusive to her company.
You will have a fantastic time, loads of things to do and see.
