Icmeler Information

I have been very busy here in the resort and have not been able to reply quickly to some of the questions asked. If I do not reply within a day or two please post a private message to me and I will endeavour to answer all questions.

Firstly, with regard to buying property in Turkey, there are many estate agents who will give good advice. Prices can be high in areas that are developed, such as Icmeler.

The Grand Saral Hotel was called the Grand Sarba before. There was a lot of complaints about this hotel in the past (I think that is the reason for the name change). I think they have cleaned up their act as I havnt heard of any problems this year.

The Sahin Palace Apartments are very popular and great reviews about them.

Out of the centre a bit but in a good location with restaurants and shops nearby.

Lots of good restaurants in Turkey and I suggest trying a different one each night.

The Lighthouse is one of my favourites along with the Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant, closely behind The Black Sea Restaurant for its upstairs position with great views of the centre of the town.

MY husband, Daughter(age 10) and myself are going to icmeler on 21st Oct for 1 week. this will be our 4th visit but we've always been in july or August. The last visit was 3 years ago and we then had our older 2 daughters with us as well, they now go on their own as dont want to go with the oldies any more!! Anyway perhaps you could advise us if theres plenty going on as this visit will be late in the season and our youngest will be missing her sisters so we dont want her to get bored! We are staying at the Marti hotel which we love and stayed there on previous visits. Could you also let me know Carol what the weather is likely to be like, is it still warm enough to swim etc

Weather is lovely here in the resort at the moment. Much cooler of course than height of season but still very nice. Still suitable for swimming but you will be cold when you come out of the water! Much Much cooler at nights and bring light jackets and cardigans.

The resort is becoming quieter every week, however the weather is perfect for walking, tours and exploring the area. So take this opportunity to do so and find out more about the area.

hi carol g,i am new to this forum and am not too hot on computers!, would you be kind enough to give me any news on how good the "s"hotel in icmeller is?please!. as 12 of us are going on 9th aug 2006(3 families), and i have been reading bad reviews about drinks watered down and not much meat dishes and this is 4* all in. or am i over reacting please any true info would be most welcome, kind regards lee(alias swiss tony)

S Hotel is okay. Many guests are happy there and I havnt heard any bad report in the last two years. It could be that the reports you are looking at are old reports.

Its in a fantastic position not far from our office. If you want good information about the area and what to do and see then come into our office and we will help. When you come out S Hotel turn left and walk along this street passing the market and you will come to a main road, we are straight across and up the steps.

Hi Wirpsygirl!

Plenty to do in Marmaris with 15 yr old.

Lots of Shopping, nights out, tours and lots of sunbathing. You will love it.

Market Day is Thursday in Marmaris and the Bazaar is open every day.

Why not get on a dolmus and come round to Icmeler for a nice sunbathing day or meal in the evening, its nice for a change and its only about 15 minutes away.
