| Hi
Just booked some flights to turkey, dalaman airport for june 2008,for 2 weeks
I have read a lot of reviews in respect to accomodation in the area of icmeler,as thats where we intend to stay, just need a few pointers
Anyone got any good recomendations for apartments that maybe close to the beach?
or anywhere really...overlooking the beach would be great, the only one i could find on the beach, didnt have much reports
there will be 6 adults,with 2 kids,(a 3 yearold,and a 1 year old)
hotels are not out of the question, but the food must be suitable for a very fussy english eater!
thanks
Harry

| Hi Harry
I'd go alogn with Vi, The Lighthouse apartments are fantastic - there are only 7 in total so it doesn't get too noisy, they're right over one of the best restaurants in Icmeler, have a great pool and are only 5 minutes stroll from the beach. I've stayed at the Lighthouse 3 times and have booked them again for next May.
They can be booked through Icmeler Travel Centre: www.icmelertravelcentre.com
The Siesta Apartments are nice, close to the centre and again 5 mins from the beach - basic, but clean and well equipped with nice pool area. A friend of mine stayed there last month and she's thinking about booking again for next year.
As far as hotels go, I would recommend the Mandalin Hotel. I stayed there in August and it's lovely, also with a great pool for the kids and even closer to the beach - about 2 minutes! You can book this one though Icmeler Travel Centre as above, the Devamli is also a nice, central hotel, as is the Bonjour hotel.
The Blue Rainbow seems quite nice, which is right on the beach, I haven't stayed there - if you do a google search you'll get some reviews I'm sure.
Phew, that's qutie a few to be going on with. If you're thinking about booking a hotel I'd go for B&B - there are some really lovely restaurants around Icmeler - The Lighthouse, Chef, Olive Tree to name but a few - and don't worry fussy eaters are catered for!!
You'll love Icmeler and I'm sure your first trip won't be your last! I'm on my.... hmmmm let me add it all up..... 14th visit?!! And there's more to come!
Hope that's of some help!

| hello there,
I know a family resort which is only a short walk to the town, I have been going there for over 3 years now and find it perfect for kids, they are safe and also it is not in the town centre so they can rest while you sit around the bar. It is called Life Apartments tel : 00902524552828 ask for Alev, she is the person who owns the apartment, let her know shelly gave you her number, you can choose a room which is best for you.
I have also booked for there next year 3 weeks again.
Hope you have a great Holiday.
Shelly

| My advice would be to have a good look at the apts and hotels available on Icmeler online, we always go with them they are very good and helpful. I would NOT go all inclusive because the restuarants are fab and too good to miss and also very good value. It is a small resort so you will not be very far from the sea anywhere apart from the old village which has good BIG apartments and alot of good stuff for the kids/ if the sea/sand is really important to you please be AWARE THAT IT IS NOT THE BEST BEACH.The sand is not too good and the sea can be a bit yeuky with sea weed and stuff and very sharp at the waters edge with shale.

| The Lighthouse are great apartments and book very quickly. Unfortunately they are almost fully booked for 2008. There is some availability left, if anyone is looking for dates just let me know.
For 2008 there will be new apartments and refurbished apartments in the centre so watch this space!
Life Apartments have fabulous views but are a wee bit of a walk, especially at night. Most guests I have spoken to prefer something nearer to the centre. Personally I think they are great! Views are fabulous.
