| Can anyone tell me prices for soft drinks on the Island Star, and what is the smoking policy like, being non smoker with Asthma dont want to be surrounded by smokey atmosphere in the bars.
Went on Thomson Destiny last year for first cruise, is Island similar?
Also any tips on excursions for the Spirit itinerary would be great.

| Island like most cruise ships nowadays ban smoking in the restaurants & theatres but do allow it in some of the lounges and on open deck. I haven't been on Isalnd myself but just happened to be reading about smoking on www.cruises.co.uk the other day.

| They do allocate smoking areas on ship last time we sailed on her. Drinks are pretty reasonable I would say the same at any bar at home.

| smoking was banned in all restaurants including the grill- outside also theatre, all lounges & the pool area were divided dwon middle 1 side smoking the other side non smoking, people did adher to it.
soft drinks were in cans ie coke & sprite £2.40 a can, if you have the opportunity when you go ashore you could always buy large bottles, as long as it's not obvious when you board it should be ok, you could always fill small water bottles for use round pool etc
you don't say which cruise you are going on, if you need any info just ask, I have all our info here, ie drinks lists trips etc

| Thanks for reply, the itinerary we are going on is Mediterannean Spirit, going to Messina, Naples, Livorno, Toulon and Barcelona
Would like to do some of these destinations on our own as the organised excursions are pricey.
If anyone has any hints/tips for any of the above would be great.
