First cruise

My wife and I are going on the Island Escape 16th of this month, we are both abit apprehensive about this cruise as have read some awful reviews albeit the minority. We are celebrating 25th wedding anniversary and are having vows redone. Has anyone done this? if so what is the dress code? I know it's informal but it would be nice to dress up one night! Any other info/ advice would be most appreciated.
