| we are going on the island star for three weeks in november, and i was wondering can we take boozebought on shore or do they scan your bags when you get on the ship, also whats the laundry prices like. thanks

| When i went on them, they scanned bags and confiscated alcohol until the end of the cruise. We managed to get away with it though when i put some cash in hands with the chief security officer. This isnt advised in the slightest though.

| We have just returned from a weeks cruise in the Med on Island Star. We had five ports of call and the only place we had our bags scanned was on the last day in Barcelona, but this was in the terminal building not on the ship. We were then able to buy duty free goods at shops there and I bought a bottle of whisky as a present and walked straight on to the ship with it. We didn't buy any alcohol at any other ports as we are not drinkers but our bags were never scanned. This is our fourth cruise and it is the only one where our bags weren't scanned when we went back on board after being ashore.
Sorry I can't comment on the laundry prices as we didn't use it.
