| My wife and I have just returned from our third holiday in Kardamena, and just wish to add some comments regarding this restaurant.
Teo's restaurant is a traditional Greek taverna located at the harbour of Kardamena, offering a fantastic view of the ocean and neighbouring islands to accompany your meal. It is far more attractive than most other restaurants which are stuck in back streets or inside buildings.
A wide and tasty variety of food is on offer, from traditional Greek dishes to pizzas, seafood, salads and steak. In my opinion the Greek dishes are second to none, and if you are looking to sample the local flavours then Teo's is definately the place for you. Value for money is excellent, especially for food of this quality, and most dishes are provided in generous (sometimes too generous!) portions. Service is always prompt, and the staff are never 'in your face', and they maintain a respectful alertness to your requirements.
My wife and I have visited Kardamena for 3 years running now, and every time we look forward to our relaxed and pleasurable meals at Teo's. Spyros the owner is a charming, caring and friendly man who takes great pride in his food, and we cannot imagine a visit to Kardamena without also visiting Teo's - the restaurant really makes our holiday there.
We would encourage anyone looking to eat out in Kardamena to visit Teo's!

| We've stayed in three different apartments: the Kardamos (3 years ago), the Lydia (2 years ago) and the Harriets (last week!).
Kardamos was absolutely brilliant - it's up on a hillside, so the view was fantastic. The apartments were very clean and spacious, but basic. There was a great pool and a snack bar, and with it being quite out-of-the-way, the pool wasn't swamped by hordes of rubber-ring weilding teenagers. Like I said, it is in a relatively remote location (10-15 minute walk to main hub of Kardamena) so t would probably suit people looking for a bit of peace and quiet. Having said that, I understand that Club 18-30 were looking to move into these apartments, so its worth checking.
The Lydia was quite pleasant, but the rooms were not as nice and the bathroom was a little bit grotty especially. Nevertheless, the location more than made up for it - smack bang in the middle of Kardamena, with a less than 2 minute walk to the centre and seafront. Communal pool meant that every Tom, Dick and Harry could walk by and interrupt your sunbathing session, but it wasn't too bad while we were there. Quite loud at nights, understandably because of location, but the draconian post-midnight music clampdown in Kardamena meant that nights were relatively undisturbed.
The Harriets are almost exclusive to Club 18-30, and my wife and I didn't know this until we went. Although the apartments were clean, spacious and well equipped (we had two baclonies!) the boisterous antics of our neighbours meant that sleep was virtually impossible. Great central location and pool were it's plus points, but stay away if you're looking for peace!

| Thanks for that , it all helps when people are trying to decide which resorts/accommodation to go for. Are there any quiet resorts in Kos?

I have just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday on Kos near Kardamena.
I was staying at the Kalimera Mare complex and because of it's distance from Kardemena town was very, very quiet and relaxing.
It has it's own un-crowded beach(with around 30 sunloungers and brollys all Free!)
It is part of a Small group of hotels, which,as we were All Inclusive at the Kalimera Mare enabled us to use the others facilities.(pool,Bar,entertainment, dinner etc)
I would rate them as follows:
1) Kalimare Mare 10/10 Great destination if you're looking for a quiet break, with minimal Kids and you love rounding off your evenings with a quiet drink at the bar.
2) Kalimare Kos 7/10 A bit further away from the beach, with similar style rooms to the more modern Mare.
More kids, more noise and furniture a little out-dated in Pool/Bar areas.
3) Akti 4/10 Similar distance from the beach as the Mare but, in my opinion a million miles from it.The brief for my holiday was relaxation and chill-out,something I don't think you'd get at the Akti. The pool was mobbed with kids and rubber rings, there were 'queues' at the bar to get a drink and the entertainment, when we ventured over was amateurish.
The Akti wasn't for me, however, people I spoke to with young kids, said they were having a great time.
I got exactly what I wanted at the Kalimera Mare hotel and had a fabulous 2 week break on Kos.

| Having stayed in Kardamena 11 times, the resort is great whatever age you are. Its flat (mostly) and the apartments although basic (I've been to worse on other Greek islands) are always clean to their standards. The best restaurant in the resport is Adelphia without a doubt, athough I found the portions too large and sometimes the queus too long. I think I only stayed in one apartment twice, and its surprising I didn't get lost going back at night and always managed to remember where I was! This year I'm going to Ilias apartments for the first time (I think) on 3 September - which is in time for the Kardamena fishermans festival, which has dancing at the church in the evening (its on either 7 or 8 September). After having a break for 5 years, it feels like I'm going home.
