| We are going to Kerala in two weeks with our 3 kids aged 5,7 and 11 years.
I read your review Julie and have made a note of the things you did with your 7 yr old. Any other advice especially for travelling with kids? Did you manage to hire a car or a driver to get you around, did you take local buses at all?
We are staying in Poovar at the Isola di Cocco. Does anyone know what it's like there ?
Also how are the mosquitos at this time of year there?
We have both travelled in India before but never with our children so this will be a whole new experience for us!

| Hi, when are you going? i am also going with my 5 year old. i have been surfing the net for things to do, i thought of taking a trip to see the elephants & wildlife sanctuary. i cant find anything else which is suitable for children.
ive booked to have my immunisations & the nurse said malaria tablets were NOT required!! i insisted that we be given a course, as im not willing to take any risks.
if anyone else has any suggestions on what to do or where to shop, pls post them.
Thanks

| I went in December with my three year old and he loved it. The beach was fina (Kovalam), but the sea is rough. If you go into Trivandrum, there is a really nice zoo and park and it cost all of about 20p each to get in (worth it just for the tigers). And you also don't have to travel that far to see the elephants. We got a rickshaw for about £10 to take us to some elephants to ride on. They love the little white children, and loads of people wanted me to take a photo of their family & my son (it's so they can say they know white people) (little did they know I have the angriest three year old in all of europe). The only thing kids will moan about is the heat.
