| I am thinking of taking my granddaughter here in August but am worried that it might be full of young people and loud night life.
Is it a child friendly resort - what sort of things are there to do?
I assume there is a nice beach but anyone anything else to offer?
Anyone got any recommendations?

| Travel agents will sell this as a lively resort. And it is that. I have young children to and being an ex travel agent I wouldn't take my kids here. However, some families do enjoy the busy-ness of the resort. So it just depends on you really. If you prefer quieter beaches and bars then this isnt the place for you. Worth noting is that in low season - May & October it isnt that bad, just a bit of risk with the weather.

| Hi, I visited Kardamena with my boyfriend last year and we had the best time!!!
However, i'm not sure if it is a very child friendly resort...i suppose it depends on how old your granddaughter is??? If she is a teenager then i'm sure that she'll love it but if she's younger then there may not be too many things for you two to do in the night apart from going out for dinner.
The promenade and side streets of Kardamena are full of bars that do play really loud music...however it's worth noting that all music (apart from in sound proofed clubs) is shut off at 12pm due to local laws (and they really do stick to this rule).
The beach in Kardamena is ok... it's quite narrow...but if you are looking for a big beach with lushious sands...then this is not the one for you.
Hope this helps!!!

| Depends how old she is ?if she drinks in bars and likes shouting and getting her boobs out OK; if younger not one thing for her to do .No real beach

| many thanks to all who replied. It has been really helpful. As my granddaughter is only seven I think I will give it a miss.

| Don't let thi s put you off Kos. Book for Kos Town and ask for Lambi, which is quiet enough and child friendly, and a 20 minute stroll from the bustling harbour. You and your grand daughter will love it.
Leave Kardamena to the night owls.
