Hi we are going next week to lambi ( 2 adults, 3 teenagers and a 6 year old!). Any tips in general?! and can someone tell me how long it takes to get from lambi to kos town. Can we walk it or do we need transport. MollyH

Hi Molly: Lambi is one of the quieter resorts on Kos, Tingaki is within walking distance and has a nice beach too. You can walk out a long way before the sea covers your legs.
It would be a very long walk into Kos town especially as when you are going it will be extremely hot.
There are local buses which are verty cheap.
When in Kos town, visit the Plane tree opposite the harbour castle of the Knights of St John. It's where Hippocrates is said to have taught his students about medicine.
There is also The street of a thousand shops which runs from the harbour up via a narrow street with shops on both sides. You can spen a day just browsing.
There are half day and full day cruises from the harbour in Kos town, Kalymnos isn't far, famous for it's sponges. Nysirros isn't far either, famous for it's volcano.
Hope this helps a little.

hi molly
lambi is a little way outside kos town. we stayed in lambi few years ago. the buses run all the time and cheap, we did walk it once and is a little way out and will take you about half an hour but it was hot when we went and wouldnt recommend it. another option we decided to do is hire a bike and we used to bike it into town most days the main road is very flat also biked it to tingaki. There is not alot in lambi to do as it is mostly a few hotels and a small beach. But Kos town is busy and there is alot of ruins around the town. There is a little train that goes up to the Asklepieon which is definately worth seeing. We took a boat trip doing the 3 island tour which was a good day out and there are loads of boats in kos town selling trips.
We stayed at the nefeli in lambi which was a very good family run hotel.
