I'm going to Greece for the first time Sept 5-19 this year, Lindos to be precise.
I want to know what sort of temperature to expect and will there be loads of mozzies at that time of year?
I think our apartment is in a complex called Popis. I'm not sure, the friends we're going with have the details.

Hello Bev

I have been to Lindos many times at various times of the year. The weather in September is still going to be very warm 80-90 degrees, pack plenty of sun screen. As for the mozzies i've never had a problem with them in Lindos and they usually love me!

Hope this helps. Have a great time, i'm sure you will.

Hmmmm ok thanks for the warning! I'm glad about the mozzies tho. it would be nice if I could get a hard start on exposing the skin to the sun but that's all dependant on the summer coming back to England! Ho hum.

Hiya Bev

You say you are going to Greece for the first time? I take it you know about the plumbing situation, you can't flush toilet paper down the loo.
I've been going to Greece for 10 years and have never found it a problem, its just the way it is and you get used to it, I always take scented nappy sacks to pop the toilet roll in before putting it in the bin.
You'll find acommodation very basic especially in Lindos, the "complex"
you mention consists of a couple of studios and a couple of appartments with a shared courtyard, Lindos is a beautiful place but a very old village and different to anywhere else I have been in Greece, I love it, its pretty, full of charm and history, the locals are very friendly, the food is excellent. There are numerous, tavernas, bars, music bars, cafes, to cater for every taste, a couple of night clubs, lots of fast food places (I don't mean MacDonalds), try a Gyros, its chicken or pork with salad and tzatziki wrapped in pitta bread, costs about 2 quid, and very filling. there are quite a few pankcake houses too, a bakery...just about anything and everything you could need.

You don't say what age range you are in or if you are going as a couple, friends, family? The beaches are lovely, the main bay has 2 beaches, warm shallow waters, water sports, lots of beachfront tavernas, shops, toilets etc...St Pauls also has 2 beaches though few facilities, its rocky but very pretty. If you want a pool you can use the Lindos View just outside the village, everyone is welcome.

I'm sure will have a lovely time, I am going on 3rd Oct this year, can't wait. if you need anymore info , just ask.
