| Hi There
Have been looking to stay in Los Cristianos end of March (Two weeks today) and found Paradise Park as a good deal - 349 from Sky Travel.
Then I cam to the internet review websites which report on the horrible Los Cristianos resort and the building works and cardiac hill around the Paradise Park.
We satyed in Arona Gran a few years ago - cant afford it now but well recommended hotel - so has it changed that much old LC? Are the building works that bad? Is the food that bad for HB stays?
How is the weather looking? Does Gran Canaria compare to Tenerife for sun in March/April?
Thanks for any advice

| Just returned from an Educational to Tenerife (Yes i'm a Travel Agent!) The area around the Paradise park is unearthly at the moment! They are building a new car park at one side of it and a new Supermarket directly beneath it (Its perched on a rocky outcrop) My advise is don't go there if unless you like watching cement mixers all day! P.S Normally this would be a fantastic Hotel but until at least the middle of May its going to be noisy.
Best advise I would give you would be to look for a hotel in the more cosmopolitan area of Las Americas, there are some great deals on the likes of the Vulcano, Conquistador and the Tenerife princess. If you really want to be in Los Christianos however look at the Atlantida HB, its only a 3T with Thomsons, but its away from most of the buliding works going on in Los Christianos. Hope this helps!

| Hi Smee, welcome.
The Aron Gran was mentioned, my in-laws are booked to go there in 6 weeks. I know it has excellent reviews but what about the area around it? Is there a lot of building going on around this hotel? I've never been there so dont have a clue.
Any comments appreciated.

| There's a lot of improvement work going on in and around the Los Cristianos/Playa de las Americas area at the mo, roadworks, new hotels, refurbishments the lot.
I'm going in about 5 weeks to the Costa Adeje Palace and have just seen that there are building works 20m to the side of the hotel and 30m in front of the hotel.

Me and the wife stayed at Arona Gran last June it is a very good hotel, as soon as you walk in reception you will see what I mean ( 30ft chandelier, plants cascading down walkways, free glass of shampoo!, bellboy.) what more can I say.One thing we did find slightly off putting was the fact that all your drinks in the bars and pool are charged to your account via the keycard. if thats all i`ve got to moan about you see what a good hotel the Arona Gran is, you`ll love it.I`ll warn you now, you are in for a right trek if you decide to walk to las americas from christianos, watch out for the many timeshare scum on the way. Enjoy your holiday! regards Dean.

| the reason there is loads of building in tenerife is those crazy spanish law makers. they passed a law a while ago which said if they did not start the building on the plots which have planning permission they would never be able to build on the land again. i read it in on of the spanish papers. my understanding is a bit vague, i could not be more specific as it was a while ago. also they are doing alot of work upgrading the roads and the walls surrounding the banana plants. :)
