| Just recently returned from my holiday at the Paradise Park Hotel. I was a little apprehensive when i got there as i had received a letter from the tour operator stating that there had previously been building work going on across the road from the hotel and that there was still some work being done on the roof top solarium but this wasn't causing any disruptions.
First impressions were that the hotel looked very clean both inside and out with a daily maid service. The architecture of the hotel was excellent. The food on offer was wide with a diverse choice on its buffet menu, infact you could eat as much as you wanted.
There is a bar at the poolside which offers snacks and drinks but these did tend to get a bit expensive at times.
There is one main pool on the ground floor outside and also an adult area for over 12's which has a jazuzzi area etc.
There is also a couple of restaurants at the hotel to choose from, an hairdressers and a gift shop.
The hotel also arranges tours of the Island via the rep at varies prices having said that you will need plently of Euros if you are planning such trips as they dont come cheap. These can be booked when the rep calls on most days at the hotel.
Onto the serious stuff now, the room which i was allocated was directly above the nightly entertainment which is laid on for residents and it became very noisy right up until the early hours of the morning with kids shouting and music blaring out.
Also the work being done on the solarium caused only some discomfort but as the week went on i woke up one morning to the noise of drilling and banging this was new work which hadnt been pointed out by the tour operators/travel agent. There was a wide hole in the opposite building in which buckets had been put to throw rubble down. This work went on all day for at least 3 of the days of my stay, with work men staring across should you venture onto the balcony.
My main reason for going on holiday was to de-stress but i ended up coming home feeling more stressed out after this experience. Complaints to the hotel resulted in asking if i wanted to be moved to another room but sadly it was already too late as my holiday was nearly over.
This is just my experience, but i do know of other people staying at the hotel who felt just the same.
Im still waiting to hear from the tour operator about the complaint i put in so watch this space. (dont hold your breathe)
All i can say is if you want a peaceful holiday consider your options on this one.
