Can anyone give me info on the best all inclusive resorts to stay in in the maldives? Is February a good time of year to go?

February is a good month, I am booked for 2006!!

I would research your accomodation very well, what are you looking for from your holiday. If you want a large island with more going on then Meeru or Kuredu. I have booked Veligandu, the beach, water villa and excellent food swung it for us. Some islands offer better diving schools etc. What do you want from your holiday? Consider a short stay in Sri Lanka or Dubai if you have time. The Beach Hotel in Sri Lanka is only 20 mins from airport, I booked 4 nights as we want to take our son(7) to see the elephants. Dubai is amazing with shopping and a 4x4 trip in the sand dunes is a must. Wild Wadi is also a fun water park. Stay in the city and it will be cheaper, the hotels are lovely.

If at all possible book a schedule flight as it will be more comfortable. I am flying Sri Lanka Airlines from Heathrow direct to the Maldives and our second week is in Sri Lanka and I have a direct flight back to London.

Also do a lot of price checking, try your local independant travel agent as they can use any operatour and save you money. I should know I own one!

Let me know if you need any more help

Hi
Have you heard any information on the Kurumba Resort in north Male Atol?
Also, what are the prices like for food and drink. The above mentioned resort doesn't do all inclusive.

Regards
Mark

Thanks travelalot. We have booked Meedhuppuru Island for February 2006 travelling with First Choice Airways with a premium upgrade. Wanted to do a stop in Dubai but the other couple we are going with wasn't keen. So maybe next time.

Hiya,

Ive been to Summer Island, which is a three star. I went in Feb a couple of years ago & it was heaven! You see the pictures, but nothing compares to the real thing. We flew the whole way, then had speed boat transfer. When we arrived, we were so tired, but fatigue went out the door when we pulled up to the whiter than white beaches. I never knew the sea could be that clear & colourful. My most favourite holiday ever! Im very jealous!

Hope you enjoy yourselves!

Hello
I've found an excellent Maldives website and they are currently running a promotion to offset holiday flight carbon emissions by planting a tree for free! We have just booked a holiday to Athuruga (Maldives) with Kuoni and maldives4less.com will plant an Oak Tree for us! It's easy to apply look out for a green tree icon and click on it - all the info is there.

can any one recommend, a place in the maldives, it my first time, and would like all inclusive....
and someone mentioned an island beginning with K???

i will prob fly via dubia for a couple of nights as i like dubai and it breaks up the long flight which i cannot do for the duration; sitting for far too long plays havoc on my already problematic back and sciatica.

Hi Sunnyside

We went to the Maldives last year on honeymoon, we stayed at Hakuraa (check out the reviews) on an AI basis.

You also get an over water villa as standard.

Also check out this link:

uk.msnusers.com/Hakura2000

We paid 2,800.00 for 2 weeks with Thomas Cook, with free seaplane transfer included.

Hope this helps
