Maldives in June/July

We visited the Maldives in 2004 and are hoping to go back to Meedhupparu,but we are thinking of going around the June or July.We know it is the wet season,but can anyone tell us if there is a lot of rain or are there just short downpours ?

Hi Sunray. I looked on the internet on several sites and it didnt look too good for June/July. But saying that it could just be tropical downpours, short sharp showers, then beautiful sun again.

Normally its short sharp heavy showers but sunshine as well and hot and humid

we went to Kuramathi last June, and we too were worried about the weather. All of the internet sites predicted that there would be thunderstorms and rain everyday - we were delighted when we had only 2 evenings/nights of rain during our 2 weeks stay. we came back with great sun tans and have booked to go to another Island in 2006!!!
