Spending Money

Hi we're off to Mauritius next week and were wondering how much money should we take? We're all inclusive in the hotel (Merville Beach, Grand Baie) but planning on doing a bit of sight seeing too (we're also getting married out there); and are we better taking Sterling, Dollars or Mauritian Rupees?

Also does anyone have any tips/ideas for trips or excursions?
