| Well you fly into Faro. Albufeira is some distance away, hope your portugese is fluent lol Once there , well it is the tourist capital so guess there will always be accommodations. it might pay you to speak to one of the reps. whilst at the airport they may give you some advice..
But feel its very risky just to arrive on the Off-chance that something will materalise..Good Luck

| Yes, I would say to book before you go too as the Albufeira area is quite spread out and you'd probably spend too much in taxis going round hotels. Also, don't you think that if you just turn up at a hotel they can charge what they like as they know you don't want to look round all day with luggage? Bear in mind too that September is a popular month to travel as the kids have gone back to school and the weather's still good so lots of couples travel (and those who take their kids out for extra hols!) We've booked lots of cheap accommodation in the Algarve - mostly through travel republic, alpharooms, octopus and thomson accomm only. You can get a bus to Faro bus staion for a couple of euros and then get a bus to Albufeira to save some money.
