| Hi, am booked on a cruise which stops at Ashdod port for Jerusalem for two days at the end of a cruise. If my passport gets stamped by the Israeli authorities will I have problems going to other countries in future? Has anyone encountered this and if so, is it possible without being offensive, to ask the Israeli Immigration officers not to stamp our passports? Awful question isn't it? Yuchna.

| You will have no problem with 'moderate' Arab countries such as Morrocco, Tunisia, Jordan and Egypt. However, you may have problems with countries such as Lebanon, Syria, etc.
You may ask the Isaeli Immigration officers to stamp your entrance visa on a separate piece of paper. They will do this no problem. I know this from expereince as an Anglo living in Israel and working for a non-profit bringing in children from overseas for medical treatment. All our children from countries such as Iraq have their visas in this way.
Have a good cruise,
Dina
