Three Day Break.

Unbelievable, outstanding, fabulous, fantastic, an out of this world experience, never again will shopping at the corner shop be the same.
Credit cards at the ready, the wife's beaming smile over-riding the scowl on my face as I prepared myself for three days of shopping. My moans groans and complaints of felling unwell, fell on deaf ears as the shuttle bus dropped us in front of the doors.
Entering through Nordstrom Court the shear size of the place became apparent, making the Dome look like a small bee hive, it is awesome, consisting of over 500 shops and department stores, cinemas, theatres, Lego land, fairground rides including a big dipper, snoopy club, bars and restaurants and not forgetting the food hall for anything you wish to eat.
Now being someone whose idea of shopping has been a visit to newsagent for a copy of the Racing Times or a magazine off the top shelf, this place was an eye opener, forgetting the usual big stores take a look at the wonderful small craft shops selling everything you could imagine, every hobby or sport, ok maybe the first one I entered started my day. A Budweiser shop full of all types of memorabilia on the amber nectar. This was but the start of an interesting journey from the past into the future, its all here, and Shaker and Mormon crafts to the latest hi-tech electronics.
We saw a show, watched a movie, at $8.50 a real treat, had Diner at Camp Snoopy's Stampede Steakhouse with outstanding authentic Mexican food great Tequila and Cerveza, entertained by Mariachi singers and dancers, for want of a better term, cheeky' might be better.
The second day saw me waiting outside for the shuttle bus, eager to see more, having agreed to meet up with the wife for lunch, I embarked on the Colima Experience, this was one of the many events held by the MOA almost on a daily basis, picking up my passport at the Sam Goody Central I visited all the event areas getting my passport stamped, sampling the delights of Mexico and picking up a small souvenir for my trouble, great fun a certainly a future holiday destination for us. The final day having met up with four other English people in the hotel, saw the men doing one thing the ladies an other, meeting up for lunch at Snoopy's again, surely three days is not enough to visit the MOA. And although it pains me to say it, shopping here is a pleasure.
Days Inn provided our accommodation; if this is two stars then I am a Dutchman. Beautiful setting, close to the airport, with every amenity you associate with 4 or 5 stars. Our final night spent visiting the Mystic Lake Casino was profitable for me. I will again visit the Mall of America and sample some of the wonderful sights around this area, but next time at least a week. While not quite Orlando, it's a close second, and along with Boston I want to return.
These three-day super savers often come up from as little as 199, look out for New York, Boston or Minneapolis weekenders from mid November to mid December. All have great shopping close by and are wonderful for Christmas presents. One of the best short breaks we have ever had.
