Thanks to those of you who offered advice about hotels in vegas, I also found lots of useful info in the reviews.
we want to take a helicopter to grand canyon and stay overnight in a cabin, which ive seen advertise in brochures, however if you book on line ( which is cheaper) it doesnt seem an option to book these trips
is this easy enough to do when you get there and do you still have to pay for the hotel the night your staying in the grand canyon
Thanks in advance
Jane
Grand Canyon Trips

Hello Jane,
There are many flying tours over the canyon but most now are not allowed the land, however there are still one or two that can.
Most hotels have these trips on offer, or take a look on line.
We stayed on the canyon rim overnight in a motel, but to be honest saw not much more than the morning sunrise. & it was expensive.
To answer your question, unless you vacate your room totally you will be charged, the exception to this rule is sometimes when they are not busy, and NOT at the weekend which includes Friday & Monday.
If you book a package to Vegas then the hotel is normally booked for the time you are there, even if you do not stay in the room.

I have found some good trips on line and sooooo much cheaper.
We are goign to go for our 1st wedding anniversary.
Just need to decide on the hotel now, best deals seem to be on New York, New York or Luxor, going to take a look at their reviews

Go to lvtb.com they are the LV Tourist bureau who seek to fill empty rooms - they always have lots of great deals.
Recommend .... Hire a car (its cheap & easy) drive on Interstate to Williams, AZ and stay in a simple Motel for 1 night ..... go next morning to South Rim ... you'll then have the very best views of the GC, at a much better cost.
Cabins there (I've stayed) can only (when I was there) be booked via Park itself; Ring just after 4pm on day before cos' thats when they release them for the next night; 1 night only may be allowed (although I got 2 nights).
