1. Spend money on your hotel - you'll need the comfy bed at the end of a very long day. It is the most expensive thing you will pay for.
2. Try to get up and out early... the queues are less.
3. Try just one slice of Pizza, it's the best. And you have got to eat a hotdog.
4. Only use licensed street vendors... the hawkers rip you off for naff fakes.
5. Ice Skating - just try it! I dare you!
6. Never ever think that a traffic cop will help you - none of them know where anything is... even that big building with the pointy spire. Doh! Get a good map or do your research.
7. Don't be fooled into thinking you have enough time to cross the road when it says not to. The stop sign is there for a reason and the cabs don't stop!!
8. Ground Zero. Just have to.
9. Hop on Hop off tour buses. Get a 48 hour ticket and enjoy.
10. Book up for next year.
That's my top ten ( for now).Bex.

Buy a 7 day metrocard for the subway. The best $25 you'll spend in New York and don't be afraid of the subway it's easy to use and New Yorkers are VERY helpful if you're lost or/and confused.
