| It makes me wonder what exactly some people see when they read these forums.
I have just read a review here and they had obviously not done much research. To say that they were not aware that the bags had to be left outside the cabin the night before they left is strange because I have read quite a few threads about it. Of course we have the old story of ex- Royal Carrabian Explorer of the Seas passengers expecting the same for less money.
They admit that the people they spoke to who were first time cruisers loved it but not them. They thought that OV was for (and I quote) "people who want a holiday camp experience outside the UK."
I go on the 27th Feb on OV2 and I hope there are none of them on board.

| Sadly they are all over, if they had read the cruise news properly it does state that they have to be left outside by 2am. Maybe they need a trip to specsavers methinks :p

| Hello there,
We are also joining the OV2 on the 27th February and I have to say after reading many of the reviews I am starting to panic!!
We have cruised before on PO and Thomson and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Have you cruised on OV2 before? If so how did you find it?

| Dont worry you will have a fabulous time, most of the snobbery on here is unfounded, you have to buy into OV concept otherwise there is little point taking the holiday, comparing OV to RC is silly, anyway if RC is so great what are these people doing taking OV holidays to start with, if they want there butler to wipe there a**e for them OV isnt the cruise to take, making complaints about hardsell tactics is also untrue if you dont want to sit in an art auction dont go you lemmings, every holiday under the sun tries to sell the extras its called buisness and its how they make there money. OV for most people is all about the informaty and I for one dont want a string quartet harping away while I am trying to eat my evening meal sat next to half a dozen american morons who think that brits actually like them. Half of the people who write on here have got there heads up there a***s and they have nothing better to do than pick fault in any thing they do, the thing is if OV is not for them and they had done there reasearch they wouldnt of found themselves on the holiday to start with - now who are they going to blame for that one ? wake up and smell the coffee you morons.

| Hi, Glynise, nice to finaly find somebody else going on "our" cruise. This is our first cruise full stop so do not know what to expect but have found great comfort on the Cruise Critic web site. Great and honest review there.
Where are you flying from? We go from Manchester and have already been told out flights are with Firstchoice and leave at 9:30am

| I have never cruised before because I dont like the formality of cruising ie:- collar and dicky bow, white jackets and suits.
Now I have been browsing through the ov pages and quite like the thought of a cruise were I can dress as I feel comfortable in.
Now it seems that I still may have to watch my Ps and Qs for fear of offending some people who ought not to have chosen this type of cruising.
4 of my friends are cruising on the OV in the Carribean at the moment
He is a dicky bow man but also likes the OV experience.
I have watched several videos on utube but some of this kind of reporting is putting me off again.

| Ahh no need to worry about dressing up. Even when we went on the OV and island escape/star we dressed up even though others didnt. We like the dressing up part which is why we choose more formal cruises, however we do it anyway regardless :)
Im sure you'll have a great time!

| Hi, Glynis. We Fly at 9:30am, which means a check-in at 6:30. This will probably be about the time you will leave. They like to arrange it so we all arrive at about 1:30 pm. I see that the flight out today (only 6 weeks to go now!!) left at 9:50 which is not bad.

As the mod for the cruise forum just let me say this.
OV is sold as a Cruise for People who don,t do cruises.
I love my Tux, but also like the freestyle dining which is becoming more available of all lines. we took two friends from the States on OV1 and had a ball, I loved the service and laid back way of eating.
No, it has not got the full casino, or on board activies. But believe me this ship ranks in the top ten of our 50 plus cruises.
Forget the critics they just don't read what the ship is offering. we'll be going back sometime.

Busy planning what we'd like to do on the islands at the moment and getting very excited.

| hi we are going on ov2 on feb 6th , initally worried given all these bad reviews , however having been with ov twice before I agree with you that some peoples comments give people the wrong impression. on your first cruise you learn lots of things , it dosnt make it a bad experience.

| I've not cruised on OV or any other ship, but after reading this topic had a look at the reviews posted on cruise.co.uk As a totally neutral observer I don't see what the problem is with any of the review of OV2. People have expressed their honest opinions. One review was by a person who had sailed on its sister ship so would have known exactly what to expect. They weren't thrilled with OV2.
All any set of reviews can do is give a general feel of either a resort, hotel or in this case ship. Just because a review doesn't fit with somebody else's opinion doesn't make either wrong. Simply diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.
