| Hubby and I (and two teenagers) went on OV2 last year - hubby was doubtful as was his first ever cruise but he had a fantastic time - hence hubby and I going again this year (no teenagers!!!) but this time on OV1. We are doing the greek trip. Flying to Crete etc etc. My question is has anyone done this cruise and if so what tours would they recommend? (or not as the case may be). We are going on 29th May and counting the days......
PS. Just returned from Fuerteventura where we had a very relaxing week. We booked the Travel Republic - I was a bit concerned as first time we had done this but now I would have no problem with using them again - very good indeed!!

| Did 2 week greek cruise on OV1 in May last year. You do not state if you are going for one or two weeks so I do not know which ports you are calling at. As we did 2 weeks we did both itineries. - Not much to see in Limosol - we got taxi to town and just walked around. Some friends with us took trip to Troudos Mountains and enjoyed day. If you "go it alone" in Santorini you have a long wait (up to 2 hours)to get on cable car, but if you go on a trip all this is avoided and you see much more of island. Definitely do a trip for Athens or get taxi to Athens - do not stay in pireos - it is horrendous. In Dubrovnik, we got a local taxi (they are waiting at ship for you). For about £35 the taxi took us all round the outside area of Dubrovnik, showing us all the views from the points so high the coaches could not get up the roads. As we drove along he explained all about the war that destroyed homes and the city and what life was like for the locals whilst all this was going on. He then dropped us at the city walls for us to pass the rest of the day just browsing. (Taxi tour was for about 1 hour) This was the best day of the cruise. All the other ports of call have something to do within walking distance of the ship unless you have anything you specifically want to go to. I'm sure you will enjoy this cruise. We have done the other side of the med but found this trip far more interesting. Rhodes and Kudadassi very enjoyable. We missed out on Mikonos due to windy weather so did not dock.

| Hmm after visiting santorini manier times as an independant traveller and not part of a tour, the longest wait ive ever had for the cable car was 34mins with 4 other cruise ships docked at the same time. Santorini town is beautiful and theres a small bar where you can sit out and look over the ocean from the top of the cable car.

| Just booked our 2nd cruise. 1st was with airtours 3/4 years ago have been saving tesco vouchers like mad for last 2 years and have paid in full for 2 a 1 c 1 week for £460 as the vouchers are worth 4 times face value. so not only are we hoping for a great holiday it will be cheap.
my only concern is i am recovering from a broken leg and wont be able to do the walking.

| We received our 'Things to do Ashore' booklet a while ago and have pored over the trips finally booking a trip in Dubrovnik (do they take euro's?) and of course one in Athens. We did notice tho that there were trips for non-walkers, i.e. you stayed on a coach and did a visual tour, they may be helpful with your broken leg or I believe OV have wheelchairs so may be you could use one of those !!
Only 19 days to our second cruise and can't wait. Have actually booked for September 2009 already - sad - no just love this type of cruising plus this cruise only does this itinerary on 4 dates.
You didn't mention what cruise or the date you are going - will keep my eye out, you won't be hard to miss!!!!
Have a great time anyway
