Hey Biffta,

I am going on the Calypso & Coconuts itinerary on 23/11 so I will let you know! I spoke to a customer of mine who went earlier this year on one of the med ones and said it was fantastic!

Ocean Village Holidays - Caribbean New year

Postby HW tenpin on Wed Nov 24, 2004 8:39 pm

Hi,
Went on Village in July, with some American friends, had a super time, but don't pack your DJ. found the casino a little small but that was the only fault. Even old timers like us had loads of fun and really enjoyed this ship.
Watch out for the split smoking sections in the showroom, if you don't smoke go early to get wonderful seats.
We had no trouble finding room to sit in the sun even on SEA days.
Enjoy
Cruising is like 'Being in the Garden of Eating'

Ocean Village Holidays - Caribbean New year

Just to say tht we went on an Ocen Cruise in the Med . We stayed in Majorca for 1 week and then Cruised the med for another. The food was very good. Entertainment was quite good.
Dont think it is like the big ships because it isnt. The glamour isnt there but there is a nice relaxed atmosphere.
We really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly too.
If there is one critisism it would be that we didnt receive our cases or rooms for 5 hours after being on the ship. This was 2 years ago so Im sure they have ironed out this little problem. Have a good trip.

Went on OV.in jan 04,,calypso/coconuts.First time cruise, found ship excellent.ie food .service, one tip, NEVER go on organised excursions, always grab a taxi or bus from port, along with someone else(split the cost). They did search bags occasionally before you come back aboard(contraband booze).Found signing for everything easier than paying with cash or plastic
at the time of purchase. If any critism, it would be the entertainment,i would say adequate rather than exceptional, did not like the idea of rushing from one entertainment place to another after 30/45 mnt show, then back again .although there was never a problem with finding a seat, except in the small bar area, which were very popular,as the comedians usually prerformed there

Hi I have been on the ocean village twice around the carrabean and wont hesitate to go again I agree with all the comments . we never had any problems with sun beds or seats in the shows .I would just add one thing on the toursWhen you get off the ship there are lots of mini busses ask were they are going ask a price usually very cheap because they fill the bus up and you dont have long to wait they usually take you round the Island stop somewhere with really good views to take photos and have a drink they then after the tour take you to a beach near the shops to do what you want usually for a couple of hours it was brill Have a great time

i went on the ocean village around the med for my honeymoon. It was perfect. We couldnt fault it atall. We didnt want anything formal so this was ideal that we could be casual. The entertainment, food, rooms, service was all excellent. We are hoping to go on the caribean cruise in Jan 2007. long time away but we need to save so we can take advantage of the excursions.
