Yeah!

We have gone and booked our holiday for next year.
March 2007 for 20 nights Orlando.
Calabay Parc.

What should we do when we are there?

Yes..::roll: I can hear the tutting..........I just need some pointers as to where to start on the itinerary.....lots to see!

So far my itinerary is....

17 March ...arrive,pick up car,find villa.....

So would like some suggestions for the next 19 days please!

How long for theme parks?
How many theme parks in a day?
Where to eat?
Must see's?

The list goes on.
All help greatly appreciated...and wanted!

I have untill next march to get this right, so I would like this thread to be at least 28 pages long.....
Thanks.

Where to start?

Probably a day each for the major parks, altho The Dog tells me Epcot is less than a full days entertainment.

Last time we went to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Universal, Sea World and Blizzard Beach. Definitely a day each and you may even want to go back to one of them again. The Magic Kingdom fireworks display is worth making a special trip for, late one afternoon. Universal was probably my favourite, especially the Hulk rollercoaster. Sea World was great too, but get there early!

A couple of evenings at Downtown Disney to help you fill up your suitcases with fluffy toys etc, and try the Rainforest Cafe too. The littl'un will love it.

If you're in a villa you'll have the joy of a couple of visits to Walmart or the like, which is an experience in itself. Never really enjoyed shopping at ASDA til I went to Florida!

Food: We tried a few places including http://www.unos.com/ , International House of Pancakes

http://www.ihop.com/

for breakfasts (mmmmmm), and a few other I can't remember! Never had a poor meal or one I could actually finish for that matter.

Be sure to have a few "off" days sitting by the pool in your villa, especially after "park" days, as it's all very tiring!

That's all for now, if I think of more I'll be back!

Thankyou for the starting point.
Son has already started to pack the case, he's very worried he can't take anything in his hand luggage...never let a 5 yr old watch the news..all be it yesterdays!

And yes...I do owe you a video!

Will make a note of suggestions.

Well just to start you off,

There are two bowling centers in Orlando 48 lanes on I-Drive & 24 laner just off, outside there is one in Maitland, one in Winter Garden and my favourite is in Sanford. While further afield, aw well perhaps not.

Eating is good in Ihop for breakfast and Sizzlers for all you can eat buffet.

In order to fill required 28 pages, thats all for now.

Twenty Nights, that's great, as anything less really is not long enough. Do try to include a day at Busch Gardens, Tampa. It's an hour or so's drive from Kissimmee and well worth it. It is my personal favourite, having a slice of all the Disney parks and Universal rolled in to one.

If you intend eating out a lot, I highly recommend Sizzlers and The Golden Coral. Like the Ponderosa which another contributor as mentioned, they are "all you can eat". For breakfast you can't beat Sizzlers.

Most restaurants offer discounts via discount voucher books you will find everywhere. Just hand them in as you pay for you meal.

A holiday in Kissimmee is not complete without a couple of days at the Belz Outlets, and a day at the Florida Mall.

Taking "days off" is very important as a holiday in the Orlando area is exhausting. The two Disney water parks are great and you should try and make time to spend a day at each.

Have fun!!

Belz factory outlet is being knocked down and rebuilt into something at the moment so that would be a wasted trip. Only part is being knocked down at the mo but its been going a bit down hill for yeasr now with more and moe shops closing. Anyway there are plenty of other shopping places to go. My favourite breakfast is the ponderosa one and i think its better than the sizzler one. Give both a try and see what you think.

I'm going 2 weeks tomorrow so I can give you an update when I get back:D

Last time we were there (which was only January!) our fav's were Seaworld - we went about 4 times and were never bored - feeding the dolphins and the sea lions is great fun and kept us amused for hours (and we are all adults!), Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and the Universal parks. We found it cheaper to buy the park tickets in the UK, get an Orlando Flex ticket and it gets you into Seaworld, Wet and Wild and the Universal Parks or upgrade to include Busch Gardens - definately worth the money.

The parks are huge - you'll probably only manage one a day and might need a day off in between (although I can never manage that as I get too excited when I'm there and want to do it all).

The Florida Mall is a must if you like shopping - although you need a day in itself for that as it's massive. Prime and Premium Outlet Malls (one at each end of International Drive) were not too bad, Nike shop was the best and the Disney outlet was good too.

Ponderosa was good for filling up with all you can eat breakfast buffet before heading to the parks, although we were pleasantly surprised in the parks as the food prices weren't too bad.

Didn't really venture out of Orlando last time, but am driving this time so might be able to see some more of Florida this time.

Hi, I can say do what the others suggested as in a day at a park then a day out shopping or by the pool as you will get totally shattered. This is gonna sound odd but i just love walmart on the hwy 192 its huge. Disney is an experience in itself and as a adult i love it to bits (i still get a lump in my throat) and the look on kids faces does it everytime. you cant beat it. Seaworld is great (try the chicken and ribs they are fab). Plus dont forget the free beer tent. :occasion1 Get to the shows at least 30 mins before they started to get good seats but its worth it. Universal and island of adventure are for those who love the big rides. Ive never been to dolphin cove so i cant really say anything on that 1. Busch gardens is good and well there is so much to do at all the parks. Night life isnt bad also. Theres the walk at universal and disneys island thing. Plus Try a sat night at old town especially if you like old cars as theres a parade of them. They have bars and shops and well its worth a visit. I could go on for hours about it all. I just love it. Theres a few water parks, but one has been knocked down thats water mania. Anyway if i think of anything else and i prob will another day i will post it. Take care.:thumleft:
