Ho Petevikki,

Welcome to HW and the cruise forum, where I prowl the passageways trying to answer questions.

So here goes,

Putting your mind at rest about the Ventura, the answer is yes.

The cruise you have choosen is one of the best, the ship is awesome, and the few minor problems she has will be sorted out long before you go. P&O are still one of the best all round cruise lines in the market.

Sleep well and dream of those long wonderful days cruising.

The Ventura does not even come close to Royal Carribeans Navigator of the Seas in class, wow factor, hospitality, dining, entertainment and attention to detail so unfortunateley the bad reviews will keep coming I'm afraid

RCFAN, hum, that rather gives it away don’t you think?

As someone who has done 60 cruises with most cruise companies I try to give an un-biased opinion on the different lines, P&O are a trusted British Line that in general gives great service.

Having been on both the Ventura and the Navigator I would rather say that one was English the other American, while one has the ‘wow’ factor the other surely has more class. BUT that is just my own opinion.

My personal preference would be Costa, they are not to every ones taste but then I like Italian food, my wife likes Princess I’m afraid that Holland America would be next followed by RC, you notice P&O are not mentioned this is not because the ships are bad just that we have done them all, and are trying the others. Even though we do take last minute deals with them sometimes.

I completely agree - I wouldn't say the Navigator was better than Ventura, it's just geared towards a different market and is UK rather than American. Not as Glitzy and Glam maybe, but in general that's not what P&O customers really want!

I don't think Ventura has made the impact that P&O thought it would, and sales certainly aren't as expected but having been on the launch I was impressed. Certainly preferred Ventura to Arcadia too - lighter, brighter and less stuffy!
