I hear if ur lucky enough you get to see turtles whilst out in paphos....is this true and if so where is the ideal location to see them, without distressing them.

One came and crawled over my foot whilst sat at 'The fountain' in marmaris years ago. That was the first and last time i ever saw one.

can usually see the turtles near lachii wgich is near to polis ( the are protected ) and must not disturb them. watch out for mounds when mating season

Yes, you can see turtles near Paphos, at Lara Bay, where there is a conservation project. It's a bit of a hike to get there, but the turtles are all the safer for it! Lara Bay is 30km north of Paphos, where the Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Project is run by the Cyprus Fisheries Dept.
Female turtles come ashore and lay their eggs from May to August, with the eggs hatching out between five and ten weeks later. Most hatchlings emerge at night between June and September.
Here are a couple of websites that give info on turtle watching and other ecotoursim opportunities in Cyprus. Do visit Lara Bay if you can - the whole project is under threat as development advances across from Paphos...
