| I know people who have been married here and I have run a workshop in one of their function rooms - it's a fabulous hotel. They are very helpful, I would mail them and ask for what you want.

| we are getting married there next week, we used a company called cyprus dream weddings and they seem ok, we even cancelled a few things off our package because we didn't need them and they deducted the cost of the items off our bill. I've ended up paying about 3000 just for the wedding package but i have to pay for the reception meals seperately. when we get back i'll let you know how it went, LAUEE.

| Hi
We got married in Paphos in 1997in the Town Hall. We booked with Cyprus holidays (?). You have to visit the Town Hall prior to getting married , I think we went on the Thursday with all our paperwork and the wedding was the following Tuesday. Also, from what I can remember some paperwork (Licence application?) had to go to Nicosia which the holiday rep did for us.
If you are getting married in the Town Hall, it was very nice with gardens just around the corner where you can take some nice photos. The actual wedding ceremony was a bit different to the U.K. in that the registrar emphasised that it was a legal ceremony and if "we entered into another marriage we would be committing bigamy" which was quite funny at the time - so much for romance. (The actual vows are the same though).
As far as arrangements go, we did it all ourselves, I visited a florist and ordered flowers, we took a cake with us on the plane which was put in the cockpit! and family friends did our photos and video. As for a wedding car, we booked a really nice Mercedes which the taxi driver valeted and put a nice white cloth and flowers in with ribbon on the outside. One thing that was really special in Cyprus is that on the way to the Town Hall, the taxi driver kept beeping and lots of local people came out and waved at us which was really nice.
As far as the reception goes, we tried out various tavernas before the big day and booked one of those which opened just for us during the day. This was just was we wanted, a very relaxed day wich everyone enjoyed.
If you are going over before the event, I suggest you have a look around for florists, venues etc
I am sure you will have a fabulous time, one tip: if lots are relatives are going with you, then put them all in apartments and then you can stay in a luxury hotel and visit them when you want!
Our families stayed in Paphos town and we stayed in a luxury hotel in Coral Bay so we didn't have to see them all the time!
Our meal was approx £5.00 a head! and everyone just picked what they wanted, we had some local fizz (very nice!) and for 18 people it cost about £200. We went back to Pahos a couple of years ago and it has got more expensive but still cheap compared with the U.K.
Im sure you will have a great time and i am pleased that we chose this way to get married. it worked for us almost 11 years down the line!
best wishes

| Hi n.stew,
I'm getting married in Paphos on Sept 8th this year. The ceremony is taking place at the Amathus beach hotel (in the hotel gardens) and dinner reception also within the hotel thereafter. We booked our wedding package/holiday with Thomas Cook and chose to take the deluxe wedding package. However, the package does not include everything I want, for example this includes only 12 photos, obviously I want far more than this but it is just a case of adding this onto package & you pay the difference.
I'll let you know how we get on when we get back!

| Paphos wedding very soon!!!!
Hi all,
Can you help please???
Getting married at Amathus beach hotel next month and possibly looking for a band or dj for evening reception. Can any1 recommend either?? Also I have booked my wedding package through Thomas Cook, do you happen to know who they normally recommend to their clients-and if they are any good??? The Amathus hotel can provide a dj or band but again does any1 know who they tend to use & if they are decent?
Any British bands over there that cater for weddings?????
Maybe you could help Kev (we've booked you to pipe at our wedding)
Ta

| Hi Leanne
I replied to this one that you put on another forum. I don't know the bands that TC use but I do know one guy they use & he is very good, I use him myself. With regards to the Amathus I really don't know who they use either but if you contact the hotel & ask & then contact me then I can either find out or I might know them.
Also certain hotels will only allow their own in-house suppliers in or they have an arrangement with the Tour Company. Again find out from the hotel & let me know

| Hi Im getting married in Paphos in Sept 09. Does anyone know the minimum length of time you have to stay in hotel you want your wedding to take place in ? We are looking to go for 2 weeks but the hotels we are looking at are so expensive that we couldnt afford to stay there for the whole time. Looking for about 4 days - one of which would be our wedding day !

| Hi Mazz108
Some hotels stipulate that you must stay at the hotel 7 days before the wedding, I would check from the hotel about this, I know 1 hotel that does require you to stay that long

| Thanks Kev - which hotel are you aware of.
We are coming to Cyprus in 4 weeks time to look at venues in the Coral Bay area. Looking for Wedding in hotel grounds, Champagne and nibbles at hotel then Evening Meal in local Taverna that will accommodate fussy eaters (ie be able to provide some English food).
Any assistance we can obtain before we arrive would be superb
