hi, was going to suggest alcudia to you but guess you have already seen it.
i will confirm though that it is a wonderful place, hot, clean and a bit of something for everyone.
very easy to get around on buses which are regular and cheap.
i have stayed in a few places seaclub alcudia s/c and delfin azul half board. delfin was a little noisy at night till entertainment finished but even tho we went to bed fairly early so we could rise very early it did not really bother us after first few nights. food varied and really good. lovely and clean. alcudia beach is fantastic, man made and with the exception of huatulco in mexico its probably the best i have ever seen. very close second although much better for kids as quite calm.
i had to cancel my honeymoon to china at the eleventh hour due to medical problems and was only able to do short haul flights, i am glad i did. mallorca /majorca was somewhere i never fancied going. we expected it, if honest, to be some sort of tacky blackpool. how wrong we were. since first going there 2 years ago we have tried malta, tunisia, turkey, germany, palma nova and none are as good for families.
we are going to rhodes in two week and i bet we end up comparing again. wherever you choose hope you have a good time. you could do a lot worse than alcudia, i know we will go back many times in the future. been in may and october both months had good weather requiring sun creams but on a couple of days needed a jumper or jacket as when/if it does get cold it tends to be very windy. husband would go everytime its me who keeps trying other places. it may seem a little stupid when you have found a place you love but i want to feel ive seen quite a lot of the world while i can.

We like Tenerife, have been a number of time when the family was young. We now go on our own. We always stay in Puerto de la Cruz. Nice old town, traffic free, a good beach with good facilities. A lovely sea-water lido on the sea-front. Good range of hotels or self catering. Good choice of restaurents at very reasonable prices. Good shoping.
