I'm stopping at the Sol Club Kantaoui, which I was told by the travel agent is lovely however I've read mixed reviews online so I'm a bit apprehensive about it now. One good thing I've heard from my brother who just returned from Tunisia last Sunday is that there is a good (and cheap) supermarket in Port El Kantaoui. He stayed in Sousse and he said he couldn't find a shop that sold a can of beer with alcohol in it there! Apparently every thing is very cheap. He was with his wife and 2 children and he only spent £20-£30 a day. He also said there was a small fun fair there for little ones and a small Zoo type of thing again just for little ones really. He only went to kantaoui for 1 day though so thats all he could say, did say it was a nice looking place though. Like I say I'll give you the full run down when I get back, let's hope it's all good!

I am sure you will have a brilliant time, I have read lots of reviews before booking Tunisia and the resort sounds excellent. Can you have a look see if there are any dolphin watching trips please,
We have booked the Occidental Allegro Abou Sofian for next August, going back to all inclusive after a self catering holiday this year which on balance cost us more then all inclusive.I will have a search around for some hotel reviews for you.

Hi all as I can say about both kanoui and the Abou Sofian is that you will be in for a treat, me, my friends and family have been going here for the past 4 years and am going back again with 14 family and friends in oct 07 each time we have never been let down. The hotel is very clean, food is brill and staff are great, the animation team there are funky and upbeat they will offer you all kinds of entertainment from just clowning around to good shows around the pool & patio area. Kantoui is low key there are many kind of trips you can go on from glass bottom boats to submarines, you can snorkel and dive and possibly see some dolphins but this is done in Hammemet which is a drive away from your hotel, there are quad bikes which will take you out into the countryside which according to my son is quiet challenging and done on rought terrain he does not advise small children to do this as there are a few eeiry places, please barter for the best price as they will always lower the prices, this goes for everything from so called "fixed price" shops to small stall sellers and even trip sellers. I dont know of a water park but you can go from hotel to hotel and use theire pools, and evening entertainment there are no restrictions but you will have to pay for drinks etc as this will not be in you all-inc from abou sof. There is a golf course just 5mins walk from the hotel which is reccommended and in the port itself which is 2 dinars = £1.00 in a taxi or a 10 min walk along a good pavement or you could take a horse drawn carriage or a Tuc-Tuc (this is a small 3 wheeler funked up loud music playing bright lighted car) anyway.. as I was saying in the port there is a local fun fair with various attractions for kids, and a great pub called the "brau house" you order your beer which is the brought to you by a waiter and placed in the middle of your table in a long glass tube with a tap on the end of it you can then serve yourself when you need topping up, its great, there is also another bar/resturant right by the fountain which sells the biggest glass of beer i have ever seen and its all good prices. there are many different pretty resturants/bars in the port and well worth a visit, dont be frightened to go out the Tunisian people are lovely and crime is very low, but do stay on the main road and in the light, your better off travelling by taxi which as i said is very cheap. In your hotel there is a disco which opens at 11pm and closes at 2am they play great music but can be quiet but if you travell with a group it can be quiet fun, there is a habbly babbly bar for smoking different flavour tobacco, there is a main bar in the large lounge area and one outside on the large gardened patio, breakfast lunch and dinner are served in the main dining room with a wonderful choice of national, international & traditional foods, try the "bric" its like a fried egg in a savoury filo pastry. there is a pool bar/resturant which has everything from salad, kebab, pizza & crepes, then there is the beach bar again serving the same sort of foods but with a bbq which you can choose your own meat or fish and cook yourself mmmm!! Afternoon tea, coffee and cakes are seved daily at 4pm on the patio and coctails start at 7pm. There are many different sports on our beautiful clean beach wind surfing, bannana boats, jet ski, paraglyding & much more these are at a cost though but again pretty cheap. I hope this has helped you a little Tunisia is great be nice to them and they will treat you like kings and queens, they love to barter so dont be afraid as they expect it dont except first or second price only pay what you think it is worth, have a great time, San.

There is a Water Park with slides etc across the road from the Main Entrance of Port El Kantoui.

Dont know how much it is for the the day though, Ask your Receptionist or anyone in the Port and they will point you in the right direction.
