PEK isnt that spread out but can be quite a walk into town, you can walk along the beach all the way to the marina, when we were there we used to walk into town and get a taxi back, If you do decide on a taxi, BEFORE you get in the car agree on a price with the driver, once hes got you if its not been agreed before the journey he will charge what he likes, ad if you decide to get a taxi into the Marina, again agree the price and also tell him exactly where you want to go, dont just say " shopping centre " or you may well end up in his brothers carpet shop. !!, we went in June and the weather was very hot, I would expect it to be quite hot enough during the daytime but take a cardi or something in case the nights get chilly.
