Weather in May

Is it warm enough to sunbathe on the beach in May or is it a bit early? Thanks.

Hi, I've been to the Algarve many times at all different times of year and found in May you can be lucky with weather but you can get some rain and cloudy days. If you go on the beach you're best to find a sheltered spot near the edge of the cliffs but the sea will feel very cold! The later in May you can go the better as the weather usually warms up.
