| I do think you'll find this very difficult with the car hire companies who operate from Faro Airport - you could probably leave a cash deposit instead but it would be costly as you'd have to change money into euros and then get it back when you leave. One of the smaller companies in resort may be able to accommodate you. Is it not worth getting a credit card purely for travelling abroad? - I have one which doesn't charge commission on purchases which is very useful.
