Hi Lillypad,

Welcome to HW and in particular the cruise forum.

Tap water is ok , if doing the new England-Canada cruise, but if you are entering the Caribbean then I would stick to bottled, because it depends on where they re-fill the bunkers. the ice-water in the buffet is on tap and I use it to fill bottles during breakfast.
!.5 litre bottles cost about $2.75 (£1.50) you can also buy it ashore and bring several back to the ship, working out much cheaper.

There are two draft largers and one draft beer, which changes, so pointless telling you what they were.

Great 'little' ship very friendly best bar at night is Crooners but need to get in fairly early as they do a quiz there at 9.30 and it fills up then.

Thanks Tempin

We are going to the Caibbean in Dec starting of in Jamica

Is Guiness available on board?

How strictly is the not brining alchohol off shore on board kept too?

Will a couple of bottles of beer in my bag be confiscated ?

Are pack lunches provided if you leave the boat for the day while in port ?

May be a few more ?'s as time gets closer as this is the first time we have cruised.

Thank You !!!!!

Hi Lillypad,

Can't say that I have ever seen Guiness on board, but that does not mean it is not, try asking customer services @princesscruises. Although there is a good selection of bottled beers, I have a drinks menu somewhere I'll take a look for it Monday.

You may bring a bottle of wine on board and I expect a couple of bottles of Guiness would also be ok. this again is really a matter of luck, I have on many occassions brought booze from ashore, but also many times got caught, this is returned to you and end of cruise.

Packed lunches are also another thing we have never required, however I think they do them either on room service or from the buffet.
One way would be to order room service for breakfast which could include enough for lunch, normally a two dollar tip is okay for quick on time service.

Food ashore in the Caribbean is cheap and good to eat, so if you want anything more than a snack at lunchtime I'd try the local grub.

All spending aboard and when going ashore is in US dollars, you can either get some before you go, using any remaining to pay something off your shipboard account. or use them up in the casino. (lol)

All shipboard spending is by your room door key, and is settled at end of cruise, (best bet credit card) but beware a charge is made of 2.5% for all transactions, tips are added daily at $10.50 pdpp, these may be reduced or stopped at reception if you want to tip personally, tipping is a must in US and most of the Caribbean.

Any thing you need to know just ask. meanwhile take a look at the cruise forum where you might finds lots of answer and tips.
