renewal of vows

Postby HW tenpin on Mon Feb 04, 2008 4:36 pm

Hello Pauline,

Sorry about delay in giving you an answer, but have been in hospital twice, and they would not allow me use of my laptop.

Please check with TA or Princess Cruise Desk, last time I heard only some of their ships performed this, mainly those out of the USA ports.

Although I am sure that P&O have started this service so maybe more UK sailings will be doing so.

I will ask the question next time I speak to someone at Princess and post reply if I don't hear from you.

renewal of vows

Postby broken nail on Fri Mar 07, 2008 10:48 pm

my husband i renewed our vows on the grand princess last june, and it was the most wonderful thing you could ever imagine. we contacted princess about 2 months before we sailed and they took care of everything - when we arrived in our cabin there was a letter waiting for us and within an hour the wedding co-ordinator contacted us and made arrangements to meet up the following morning - we then were asked which day we would like the ceremony to take place, (it does depend the sailing days and the captains itinerary), if we wanted any particular words put into the vows, and we were taken round the chapel and shown round. a couple of days before the ceremony we were contacted just to make sure everything was ok - on the actual day we received a bottle of champage and souvenir glasses from the captain, and a beauiful orchid posy and buttonhole, we were then collected from our cabin by the co-ordinator and escorted to the chapel and introduced to the captain, and the ceremony began, the ships photographer is there also to capture everything for you. it was very very emotional, especially as we were doing it to celebrate our silver wedding!!! the whole thing lasted about 35 minutes, you can take people to the ceremony, we had relatives with us and had also made friend on board, who came to watch. afterwards we had a meal and a couple of days later we were presented with a beautifully framed photo and the transcript of our vows - a wonderful reminder. i am sure you will enjoy every minute - i do understand the the sea princess does the renewal of vows but i dont think they have a wedding chapel.
hope this helps!!
