Hi Tiz,
Welcome to holiday watchdog and in particular this cruise forum.
First tips, these are added daily to your ship board account at the rate of $10 per day per person.
You may adjust this at reception to any amount you like or stop them all together. these tips are shared between all serving staff, crew members that help docking, people in the buffet and everyone else who makes your cruise worth while. your ship board account is paid at end of cruise, and is best done by credit card.
Drinks have a 15% service charge added which can not be changed, this goes to all bar & serving staff.
Drinks themselves are about the same price as your local pub, so you can get some idea from that.
You may also ask reception for a updated account at any time and you can also pay off any amount at any time, (best done in dollars) all play in the Casino is also in Dollars, or put on your account up to the value of $50.000
My wife & I like a drink and also have a bottle or glass of wine with diner, our average bill for a 7 day cruise is $600 (just over 300) depending on what ships tours we do.
Our next cruise to North Cape (June 19th) cost so far $900 for tours, but it is a special for us.
You may also enter all boarding details on line before you go, at Princess Cruises, this included passpot and credit card details and any tours you want to book, you just need your cruise details & number.
So so drawn out but tried to explain best I could.
You will love Princess top rate cruise line and getting better all the time.
