Protaras to Nicosia

Hi, I'm off to Protaras in August and would like to go to Nicosia for the day, could anybody tell me if its easy to reach by bus or is it not worth the hassle. Thanks

You can get an excursion to Nicosia but No bus service as I am aware, your far better to hire a car
