San Juan Puerto Rico

Im taking a cruise out of San Juan in March 2007 and would like to hear from anyone who has stayed on the island, ie Good Hotels / Beaches.

My parents stayed in "Old San Juan"
said it was so beautiful there
full of the islands history.

EL San Juan Hotel in Isla Verde (near Airport) is a classic place to stay. It has the largest chandelier in the caribbean. Decor is out of a Bogart movie. The best dressed people hang out there. Kayaks rented out back. Its on the beach. Everyone speaks english. Also has ESJ towers next to it. El Convento in Old San Juan is another top hotel. No beaches in old san juan. but lots of nice cobblestone streets and shops! La Bombanera is a nice breakfast place to people watch. Kind of a local hangout for lunch and breakfast.
