Hi Phil

Your close to me. I live in Icmeler, Marmaris, Turkey, which you will know is only one hour away by Catamaran. Any time you are over there give me a visit. Also although I know quite a bit about Rhodes old town would be interested in your expertise on best places to visit and eat whilst there on a day trip. Already know the palace of Grand Masters is a must.

Also I believe that last summer a small train (tractor dressed up as a train!) was touring the old town, which would be great for anyone not good at walking. Can you give me more info on this?

Hi Phil - newbie member here - I've just joined this forum after making an impulsive holiday booking in Afandou - and need to know more about that side of the island. Not too keen to get into Faliraki too often as I'm getting away for a beach holiday and travelling on my own. Will be there for 2 weeks and hope to do some island hopping too - so would appreciate an idea of mini cruise or ferry options to other places off Rhodes. Also interested in bike hire and licence requirements for hiring scooters and costs for both if you know anything. I will get into Faliraki for a night out once I've settled in and it would be great to know where you recommend for eating out and a (quietish) drink avoiding the clubbers if possible - good fun if you're in with a crowd but not as a singleton! Also where is the best place for water sports and diving? gosh I'm inundating you with questions! Hope you can help! Cheers - Sharon :)

Hi Philsarikas

I am off to Tholos in July with my sister and a friend. We are after a quiet relaxing holiday and believe that Tholos is quiet. Are you able to let me know a bit more about the resort. I know that its small which is fine but what about the beach and do you know anything about any of the hotels ?

Thanks.

Hi Dingle, Visited Tholos a couple of years back, beach is lovely, got a great breeze all the time. Some lovely hotels leading straight onto the sand with loads of entertainment during the day, quizes, games pool fun etc. Its not the biggest place but what there is you will find quaint. Its my second time their, first time the resort was just getting built and i enjoyed it then. You can visit the original Tholos ( spelt different), its about half a mile up the road into the hills, People very nice and friendly. :) :) :)

Thanks Tony thats great.

Am really looking forward to it - only 1 week and 2 days to go!! YEAH! It sounds ideal and just what we're looking for as we don't want anywhere too built up or rowdy; just a relaxing time.

We are staying about 1 mile out of Tholos itself which will be good as we can walk off all the food when walking into town !!

Had heard that the beaches weren't up to much so was getting a bit worried so thanks for your help.

Hi I went to Afandou last year and stayed at the Georgia Apartments and had a great time. If you can drive hire a car and go to agathi beach next to haraki it is a really nice beach spoilt only by a generator for the catering unit but you soon get used to it. For a good meal in Afandou try Sergios the food is very good and plenty of it. The beach is very pebbley but the water is lovely and clear. I was going to go to Afandou again this year but it looks like I won't be able to now. Making me envious now writing this lol have a great time.
