| Hi
Have a holidya booked for june 2008 at Holiday Village Sarigerme.
Heard some great reviews and looks like a wicked holiday.
Has anyone done any of the excursions nearby?
What are the water sports like? Scuba diving, body boarding, surfing? And near by beachs? Any you would recommend.
Any day trips or activites that you would recommend?
Cheers

| AAARRGHHH i now need a travel kettle too!! I assumed we got one in the room. I have to drink a coffee in the morning before i move! Will need to pop out and buy one now tomorrow as we leave on Thursday. Just got my tickets...cant wait now.
The travel agent said she went a couple of years ago when it was joined and said it was great. So i feel more relaxed about going now.
Whats this about £10 notes???
I'm just taking a few quid in cash. Will need a cash machine though at some point....so is there one in the local village??
Apparently the stirling is accepted as much as lira.....so why bother exchanging?

| If you have an Asda I paid £8 for a travel kettle yesterday. it's only small but big enough for a couple of cups. I'm the same. I function so much better after I've had my first cup of tea. You can also get them from argos. They sell them in duty free so don't worry if you don't get one before. Only problem is I'm sure they are about £12 or £16.
When you arrive at the airport you will have to fill in a card with your details and hand over a £10 note each (including children) It's like paying for a visa.

| Sorry, didn't answer your question about cash points.
There is a mobile one in the village, failing that you will have to go to the nearest town. If you go on a trip with Sarigerme tours they stop at cash machines.
The hotel do offer an exchange service but I don't think you get the best deal.
I am taking sterling
If you have a look at www.sarigerme.net it may answer some questions for you. The forum also has answers from people who live there and are very helpful

| Hi all
Just a quick note for all those going soon.
My husband has just been told by a guy at work who has just returned from Turkey to put each £10.00 for the visa seperately in each persons passport and not altogether in one as when his mate went they thought the other money was a tip!!!!!!
Have a great hol.

| Hi nessyfaz,
You need the £10 for visa payment when you get to the Airport -if you have a british passport.

| Hi all
I go to the hol village in July and have just read some fab reviews on the Trip Advisor website from people who have just returned this month.
I too have heard certain things about this complex but the good reviews far outweigh the so so ones.
Hope everybody who is going out soon has a fab time.

| Hi,
(we're here in June) - Try not to be too put off by these reviews. I think that last reviewer just simply had very different standards to those the hotel caters for, and added to that - there was a bug going around. This can happen at any hotel, in any country, at any time of the year. Ive read, like Willfan, almost every review there is about this place (sad really!) and its certainly not a common occurance. I can tell you, There are far, far more positive reviews than there are bad - plus, these people whent at the very start of the season, when I expect staff where still getting used to everything.
I think if you go expecting the Ritz, and kids walking about with bowler hats on their heads, rather than base ball caps, you may be dissapointed :o)
Just to clear up one point - to avoid any confusion - every member of your party, regardless of age or ability will need ONE SINGLE £10 NOTE EACH - UK STERLING. This is PER PERSON and not per family. They dont give ANY change.
There is a cash point in the village. The Hotel also give 'cash back' on your credit card (no doubt for a conisderable fee!)
The airport in Dalaman is extremely expensive - do not go with any plans to buy food or drink without spending a fortune. Stock up, however best you can, on provisions before you go.
This hotel HAS had some great reviews. The problem with these review sites is everyone has different standards and oppinions - and we all tend to take the negavite reviews too seriously.
Have a great time everyone!
Dan

| I fully agree with everything you have said.
Go with an open mind and don't go looking for negatives. Think of the positives ...... the sun will be shining ( I hope !) no work and some one else will be doing the cooking !!

| Went last year and had a great holiday.Only two tips,if you want to scuba dive dont use First Choice. You end up on a large boat with about 40 other people and end up waiting around for instructors etc.Use Sarigerme Diving centre about half way up the main street on the left. This is a family run school run by BURHAN a master diver nad you can get one on one tuition as my 9 year old did. You get two dives and a great meal and you are out for a full day. not half as with F.C.Also as you may expect much much cheaper than F.C.
If you hire a car DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES use Dell Boy in the foyer of the hotel.I and at least four others booked cars with air con expecting newish vehicles for days out starting at 9.00 am "Dell" did not show till 11.00am and only had bangers ie he tried to give me a 15 year old Rover 800 (bad car when new) which was obviously being used by his family, full of rubbish and DIRTY nappies in boot.

| Hello, Me my Mum, Bro and sis are going for 1 week on the 9th June. Didn't realise we had to pay Visa at the airport. so Cheers :)
Never been to Turkey before, i can't wait to go, are all the activites open in June for the children?
We are not planning on taking any of their currency is this a good idea?
From the hotel how far is is to walk to Sarigerme tours in the village?
What is the beach like there? Is it protected for the turtles? Can you Sun bathe and go in the water?
Cheers
