Hi
Have a holidya booked for june 2008 at Holiday Village Sarigerme.
Heard some great reviews and looks like a wicked holiday.

Has anyone done any of the excursions nearby?
What are the water sports like? Scuba diving, body boarding, surfing? And near by beachs? Any you would recommend.
Any day trips or activites that you would recommend?

Cheers

Hi can any one help
We are booked to go to the Holiday Village in June
Is this the same as the iberostar tropical hotel
If not what are they next to each other and can you use the facilities in both?
Many Thanks

Hi
I'm going to HV for a week on 2nd June with my 2 daughters 22 and 9.
From what I've managed to find out, in the past the two hotels have been seperate but this year they have been joined to form the Holiday Village.
On my confirmation it states that the accomodation can be on either site but you can use all the facilities.

Hope this helps

Hi, I was thinking the same thing last July when i booked to go to the iberostar, in short it is the same hotel but it is split into two sections, you are not supposed to go from one side to the other in respect of dining/ drinking as you will have different coloured bands however you can use pretty much all areas and to be honest if you go to the bars they never stopped anyone and soft drinks are self serve. The hotel is very nice, imaculate gardens better than most 5 star hotels that i have stayed in around the med. We had such a lovely time we bought a property over there, do try and get out if you can as there are some grat places to visit nearby.
PS I have been told by my Turkish contact that the Iberostar no longer have the other side.

Enjoy

Hello....we are due to go on the 15th and are worried. We booked the iberostar as we were told it was quieter, then got a letter to say it had all been joined. But a friend of mine went to the pegasus section last year at the same time, and hated it. So my worry is...have we been moved into the other section now surrounded by the people who paid less and act more like louts...as ive been told. Or are we still in the better section, but have to share all facilities??? Its confusing, and we have been put off from everything my friend said about the place.
Vanessa.

Hi Nessyfaz

It is now one large complex.

At £1300 for 2 for a weeks holiday (plus a free child) I don't think I'm getting a cheap holiday.
I don't know what part I'll be in as they don't specify this on the booking confirmation. But rest assured we are one family who are not louts so wont be lowering the tone of the hotel.
I've seen mixed reviews but generally favourable. I think a holiday is what you make it. I'm sure you'll have a good holiday no matter what side your are in, just go with an open mind.

Hope you enjoy it, it's not worth worrying. I'm sure the reps or reception will help if you have any problems

Have fun

Hello.
Wow you paid alot!!!
Ours was only £1700 for 4 of us for 2 weeks in a jacquizzi suite!
You know when you book and ask for a fairly quiet family friendly resort away from the people who like to get drunk all day and night and cause trouble....to then be told you are going somewhere that you asked not to be...its quite upsetting.
We paid alot...well its alot of money to us anyway. And this will be our last hol abroad for some yrs to come and we were really looking forward to it. So to be told what i was by a friend, it put a downer on the whole thing.
So do they share the restaurants aswell now...i know they have two of everything according the map in the brochure. Just wondered how that still stood...whether people are split between them or not still.
I'm nervous enough about flying without the added nerves of what the holiday is gpoing ot be like now too.
aarrggghhh ....lol.

Hi
I know, and to make matters worse I've checked the prices recently and the cost had reduced considerably.

I don't mind where I am, I imagine it will be a case of being put on either side but I'm sure the jaccuzi suites are on the quieter side.

There are several restaurants so I'm sure you'll figure out for yourself after a couple of days which one you prefer. It's such a large complex I'm sure you will find quieter areas.

How old are your children ? My daughter is 9 and is really looking forward to it. I chose this hotel based on the activities for her. I would like her to make a friend to make it even more enjoyable for her. To be honest I'm not one for frolicking in the pool.

We go on the 2/6 so you'll have to let me know how you get on.

Thanks craigdeb, just heard someone got a week for £654 for 2 !

Think I'll squat for a second week !! I booked this holiday in October last year, obviously pays to wait. I booked early because the hotel sounds ideal for us. Plenty of kids clubs for my daughter to make friends and lots of activities to keep her entertained. I've always found First Choice kids clubs to be excellent.

I'm really looking forward to going now.

Can you tell me what you actually get in the room eg the mini bar etc. Are you allowed to take drinks in to the rooms? Is there a kettle or do you have to go to the restaurant for a cup of tea ?

Thanks

Hi, We are off here on the 5th June. I have picked up the latest Holiday Village Brochure and emailed First Choice, and in short - both confirm the two hotels are now 'as one' again, and the facilities can be shared in both. The map in the first choice brochure now also shows as both hotels joined as one, rather than just the one 'side' as pictured last year. FYI - on Google Earth, you can find some great shots of the hotel (click on the picture icon) just incase you want to get in the mood!

Dont read the first review of this year, as I did. I think this person may have gone with much bigger expectations! I've read every review I can find on every site - and I reckon we will all have a great time! :o)

The only thing I cant make up my mind over is how to take money? On card, sterling cash, lira... I think, the best answer is half on the card, half in cash... and a few notes in the local currency to tip the lad who brings up your suit case when you check in.

Cheers all
Dan

Hi

We're here in June too. Good advice about sarigermetours... in the local 'town' and apparantly much cheaper than First Choice. Feedback I have read, and heard from other people who have been is Mud Baths and Jeep Safari are a great laugh and day out.

Their website gives loads of pics, lists all the tours and prices too (as well as when they go).

Have a nice time.

Dan

Hi Dan (again!)

Sounds like we are both working along the same lines. I think I've read everything that has been published about this hotel. Have you seen the 400+ photos ?. The last review critised Will Young being played around the pool but as a Will fan I took this as a positive comment.

I'm going to take some turkish only about £70 though for the week and use this for tips for waiters etc. Will probably take about £500 sterling (don't forget your £10 notes at the airport) and use my card for any additional money needed. I think most of the money will go on paying for additional kids club ativities like the chocolate party and the high wire ropes. I'm going with my 2 daughters 22 and 9 so don't expect to spend that much. I wont bother with euros, sterling seems to be the more commonly used currency.

I know the exchange rate is not too good at the hotel but by the time you pay for transport to a cash point you might as well get it from the hotel.

:o) They could be playing Tom Jones for two weeks for all I care! MP3's charging - and books are all packed.

Was going to book Football Acadamy and Swim Kids (we have three kids, 9, 7 and 4) once we where there - rather than over here. Dont want these to clash with any excursions we want to do. I dont think these will be booked up in early June?

I hope the welcome meeting is not too early on the Friday. I dont think you get into to your room until about 2-3am. Be nice to spend the morning getting up late, and getting ourselves in order before.

Sulking today. I could have booked Gatwick Parking a couple of months ago for about £55 for the two weeks. Today, I went to do it and its nearly double!! That'll teach me. Was waiting to get the tickets just to check the terminal (north now, I know).

Blimey - reading what some of you lot paid... we paid a fortune, I think about £2700! Two adults and three kids All Inclusive, 14 nights. We have booked to sit together, and late check out. So anyone else who paid full price reading this thread... your not alone :o)

Tickets have just arrived !

I'm thinking of buying a travel kettle just so I can have a drink when I wake up in case the girls fancy a lie in.

I'm not sure if I've been dreaming because I can't find the post again, but do you go for a walk around the site with the rep after the welcome meeting ? It will probably take the first day to find everything. I've never had a problem booking activities and I always go away at half term.I'm away for the 2nd week of half term but I know some schools only have a week so it may be less busy at the beginning of June if some have gone back.

We are flying from Manchester, it's £50 for the airport transfer which is reasonable, a taxi one way costs around that.

If anyone is reading this who has been, can you give me an idea how much you spent please ? I'm only there a week but wondering if I'm taking the right amount/currency (please see earlier post) Thanks

I read that post too, and yes - you get the option to have a tour of the hotel, which the reviewer recomended to do as it was so big!

Thanks for that.
I'll probably go for a wander with them. Gives a chance to ask questions you think of when you are walking around.
