| My daughter is a rep at the Village....the beach is fine but very flat and barren...just a bit deserted as everyone seems to prefer staying by the pool [and the food!]. Yes the mozzies are bad but it depends on your own reaction...my son and I are immune to them while my husband gets bitten to death unless he is smothered in stuff with DEET in it. Jungle Formula is good or the 100% stuff from Milletts, but that stinks....have a great time!

| hi ian,
the beach is fine and sandy, but the sea is very very rough, not really good for swimming. you can get a taxi into side to go to the beach, a taxi costs about 5 euros each way.
The pools in the resort really are fab though, our kids didn't want to budge from them :)

| oh forgo about the mozzies...we went in september and didn't get bitten at all. just used jungle formula and were sensible keeping the windows shut most of the time. Watch out for the wasps though, they are quite huge!

| Hi
we stayed at the holiday village, though we haven't got kids, it is certainly a great place for families, we used the beach, but preferred going to the beach at Sarigerme which is beautiful, it is a municipal beach and you pay to use it, but worth it, (very cheap) you can walk there and back...(or get the dolmus) but quite a long walk and when you see the German resorts along the beach, it makes you wonder why us Brits get the worse deals!! Their complexes and beaches are much better!
The complex has got lots to offer for families.
We are awaiting our apartment in Turkey being finished and stayed at the complex when you went out for a visit.

| We have been to Holiday Village last 2 years- 2006, 2007, and on the verge of booking again as we loved it so much.
The REAL reason the beach has not been upgraded for tourists as it is a protected beach for the Turtles.
The mozzies got me both years,1st year got over twenty bites- not pleasant, but it's to be expected- lots of water around resort.
Prepare yourself from the outset, and spray yourself before getting on the bus to the resort, place a towel at gap at the bottom of the door whether you're out or in,and plug in repellent, when you're in apartment.Only a couple of bites 2nd year cos I forgot to spray one night!
Better safe than sorry.
Have a fab time- no reason not to really!

| hello my whole family are heading to the holday village in sarigerme in july. total 6 adults and 3 kids ( 3, 6, 9 ) and are looking forward to it. grandparents are fussy eaters so might have a problem!! good advice on the mozzies sprays and the towel in the door. are the wasps really that prominent? will i need to buy a bigger paper!!!
went to ibiza ( holiday village) last year and wasps were a problem around the bins, but thats it really. entertainment was great pool wa clean if a little cold for the baby, but all the adults enjoyed it as much if not more than the kids. we beat all the " international "guests at shooting archery and darts, but two very lean and athletic german tanked us at volleyball, got a good tan that day
ant feedback will be appreciated!

| Hello, my name is jimmuy and i LOVE th holiday resort but il be honest, the wasps are very dangerous
my kids wouldnt go outside for 3 days when they saw it, its about the size of your fist,(of course this was the queen, which any keen wasp fanatic like my good self would know, does'nt sting) but of course their was no convincng them of that! HAHAH! but the pools are really great and kids loved them over the past 5 years in the holiday village(yes, it really is that good!) i have accounted for 532 mozzi bites! but the tips up their are top just follow them and youl be fine!
have a great time friends!

| Hello, I am Ronnie Jackson Mother of 3
i expected this to be a very good holiday but unfortunatly the plane was extremely gay. it landed on my face causing me to miss the holiday village so much it felt like a plane had landed n my face, which wasnt the best feeling i must admit
Unfortunatly as jimmuy stated the wasps are a danger to our common society which also caused me to feel like a plane had landede on my face, wich wasnt the greaest of feelings
ONE THING THAT ANNOYED ME WAS THE LACK OF RESPECT SHOWN BY HOTEL STAFF,
one called me a gentelman when i am clearly a woman!!!
This horrble attitude made me feel like a plane had landed on my face... which wasnt the best of feelings,
all in all it was my best holiday ever, and i would certainly recommend it!!! 10/10

i am well, a bit poo'd off to be honest, we arrived and the staff where EXTREAMLY RUDE i found a bit of STONE in my "spag bol" one night
and im afraid to say, you dont know where the foods been cos quite frankly it could of came from hot stuff so i really dont know
i comletely agree with ronniejackson mother of 3 the hotel is quite a dump their are 17 swimming pools in total which i like swimming in sewage!!!!! but i was overwhelmed by the sheer unhygienicy of our room there was a jaquzzi and i hear you say " well whats wrong with that" well il tell you what was wrong with it son! there was hair blocking the plug hole and brown marks covering it!
so if your a bit of a dare-devil and your going to go to the holiday village! i wish you luck!

| Hi, myself my husband and my 14 year old son have just returned from the holiday village sarigerme (14/06/08) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE protect yourself against the mozzies!!! they are as bad as you have previously read, between the three of us, we must of had 100 bites!
There is a sandy beach next to the hotel, this is very quite, but if you are going for a swim in the sea, there is a big drop after a few steps into the sea, so please be careful.
If i am being completely honest we didn't enjoy our 14 night stay, all inclusive this is not.. food is not good at all and there are two sides to the village, one is called the tropical the other is called palace. we were on the tropical side, the palace side is a lot better, you can go to this side of the village, but you are not allowed to eat in the main restraunt in the evening. They do not cover the food in the tropical side, and we found lots of flies around the food. A holiday is what you make it, I just hope you have a better time than we did.

| With stories of plane landing on people's heads above, I am starting to wonder whether Turkey should be tightening who they allow in and out of the country. How is this relevant to the location? I also very much doubt you actually visited this hotel at all as there 17 pools in this resort.

| Yes, the mozies are terrible. We are just back and severly bitten and that was using repelent. We had a great holiday but would not go back as it was to far out for us. We did not like the entertainment at night struggled to find something to do.

| Ask a sensible question and a load of weirdo's respond! How about a sensible answer. I've just returned from the Holiday Village (July 2008) and I can't praise it enough. Certainly wasn't dirty. And staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. As for the beach by the hotel, it was huge and empty. Sand is greyish and gritty and VERY hot (reached 41 degrees when we were there). Kids went on it (once!) but MUCH preferred the choice of pools around the complex (access to drinks, food, shade, clean swimming water etc). The sea was quite rough and got deep very quickly so not very child friendly. Frankly, with the facilities around the village, I could see why the beach was ignored.
And amazingly none of our family got bitten by mosquitoes in the week we were there - result! You can read my full review at http://www.holidaywatchdog.com/13214-Sarigerme-Holiday_Village_Turkey_Hotel-Holiday-Review-Full.html#104177
