| Hi SCUBA I don't know any places personally BUT I would recommend you choose somewhere in the Northstead Manor Drive/Weydale Avenue area as its a nice location. Also Columbus Ravine. Lysander is the name of one that springs to mind in that area, also Headlands, Villa Marina, Hotel Columbus, Lynton. They are all small hotels/B&Bs.
I haven't heard of harmony guest house but i see its on Princess Royal Terrace - not a bad area at all. Its a residential area on South Cliff, 10 minutes to south beach, 10/15 mins to town.
I don't know anything about prices.
Alternatively, somewhere on the South Cliff such as Esplanade area but may be more pricey because that area tends to be.
Places to avoid - Valley Road, North Marine Road (only in my opinion as a local). Avoid the big hotels such as the St Nick and the Grand they are overpriced and overrated.
The holiday Parks in the area are quite cheap but also rather nasty at times. But if you only want it as a base to explore then try some of the Haven/Park Resorts sites. Or better still - Flower of May, Browns or Jacobs Mount - reputedly a bit nicer than the big parks.
I can get you phone numbers if you need them as I have a local yellow pages.
The schools round here all go back tues/weds next week so you should have a nice quiet time!

| I didn't even know they did accommodation at the Lord Nelson. I wouldn't go there though even for a drink! Just because its too touristy and its usually the 'loud' ones who go there.
I hope it hasn't put you off Scarborough though, cos apart from the crap roads to get here and the useless parking system, it really is nice here, honestly.
