| 1 day guided tour to Cairo by flight. Is it best to reserve before going, or cheaper on arrival.? I believe flights can be booked out if wait until arrive into the country- going by bus is out of the question- too long. Does anyone know how much is the usual cost?

| Booking in Sharm is around about £110+ per adult. Reps will charge over £150. These will probably be with others not just yourselves.
I normally book flights with www.egyptair.com (put egypt as your home country for the best prices) My flight is usually around £35 return. I usually book a 9am landing and 9pm departing. The flights will go up the nearer the time you leave it so do book as early as possible.
Then book a guide online. I use www.reallifeegypt.com who will organise a guide to meet you at Cairo airport with transport. Their price includes all entrance fees and lunch. This is a private tour so you can pick where you want to go and go at your own pace.

| Many thanks Kazi, this has been a great help. For this arrangement, I presume a taxi to Sharm airport is best?

| Yes that's right. Your hotel will be able to quote you a price if you want to use one of theirs.

All organised with the plane , and a guide started from your hotel. started from around 1000 egyptian pounds.

| Hi
We are wanting to visit cairo from sharm around the 23 July and have been on Egypt Air, thinking the flights would be around £35 but they will be £83 each. Can anyone tell me if this is right? This looks to be an expensive trip. Would I get cheaper if I book when we get there?

| Hi Malvern,
The price sounds about right, we have paid GBP 70 per flight a few weeks ago to go from Sharm to Cairo on the 20th August, I think the closer to departure date you book the more expensive the flight price.
We have booked a tour guide with www.reallifeegypt.com for about GBP 60 each, this still works out cheaper than tour operater price First Choice charge £188 for the same trip but doing it this way we will be able to spend more time doing the things we wanted with our own guide and an aircon minibus.
Regards

| Hi Mary - I am going to Sharm in August and want to visit the Pyramids - I understand that it is best to book flights in England beforehand, is this what you did? When you arrive in Cairo, how far away are the Pyramids - a taxi ride away and roughly how much will that cost. Did you have any problems?
