Drinking age?

I'm going to Sharm in July and i'm going to be 18, but i've heard the drinking age in Egypt is 21.

Is this true, and if so how strict are they about it?

My own experience is that the hotel I stayed in last year, which was AI, gave all under 18's a different wristband to identify them.

However, my daughter who is 16 got served with 1/2 of lagers no problem even though she had an U18 band on.

Don't think you'll have a problem.

Me and my mum were thinking about the band situation at hotels yesterday, and thought most would have u18 then the adult ones...so hopefully it shoulnd't be a problem then

We've had no problems in restaurants / bars around Na'ama Bay & our younger son was only 18 for this, our 4th Xmas out there; elder one is just 22 now. We go B+B, so have no wrist band system. Altho we haven't had many alcholic drinks in the hotel, we've never had the lads' ages queried.

Thats good to hear then, i heard that they were really strict from a few people i know, so it's nice to hear that they probably won't be that strict

The Drinking Age Over There Is Young.. Im 13 And I Got Served For Cigarettes And Alcohol(Not For Me.. But They Didnt Know That)..Ive Been Told The Drinkin Age Is 13 Anyway. So.. Dont Worry:)

Laura babes as Egypt is a muslim country I think you will find that the legal drinking age isn't 13!!!!
